Our Story

Some love stories begin with an instant spark, while others take a little time to ignite. For us, it was the latter—at least at first. We first met online, but it took a little over three months before Lauren finally agreed to go on a date with Grant. When she did, everything changed. Our first date at Twin Archer Brewpub in Muncie, IN, carried over to Elm Street Brewery, and from that night on, it was game over for both of us. It was God’s perfect timing that brought us together. From the first few seconds, the first few moments together, we just knew—we had found the one. It wasn’t long before Grant asked Lauren to be his girlfriend, and on July 21, 2023, he planned the most magical evening. Parked beside a cornfield, music playing in the background, we released a floating lantern together. If you know Lauren, you know she’s always dreamed of her Rapunzel moment from Tangled—and in just a few short weeks, Grant made that dream come true. As our relationship grew, so did our love for one another. We faced obstacles as every couple does, but through it all, we leaned on God and each other. No matter what life threw our way, we knew we could overcome it together. Our relationship has been a beautiful journey of not only growing in love but also growing spiritually, putting God at the center of everything we do. Since that first date, we've been on countless adventures together—attending over 13 weddings in a single year, visiting 5 different states together, going to concerts (including Noah Kahan!), and even experiencing a real Floating Lantern Festival. Every memory, big or small, has been a piece of the story leading to this next chapter. Then, on February 2, 2025, after what felt like forever of Lauren asking When is it going to happen? Grant finally popped the question—but not without keeping her on her toes. On a beautiful Sunday afternoon at Coxhall Gardens in Carmel, IN—a place that has become so special to us, where we take Mateo on walks and have picnic dates to escape our busy schedules—Grant led Lauren to the bridge. Little did she know, his best friend, Phil, and Phil’s wife, Ruth, had secretly gone to pick up Mateo from her apartment. Moments later, Mateo came running towards us with something tied to his collar. Grant cut the ribbon, took the ring, got down on one knee, and asked Lauren to marry him. Of course, she said YES! Now, we are planning our wedding and our marriage, excited for all that is to come. We cannot thank our family and friends enough for the love and support we have felt throughout our journey. We cannot wait for the big day where we get to celebrate our love with all of you! Here’s to Happily Ever After!
