This story isn’t your typical love story. It is the story of how a boy and girl were able to find each other, and fall in love. It all started in a Digital Photography class in high school where a girl had to sit next to a boy in the computer lab because it was the only seat left in the room. As the days went by, the boy and the girl started to talk to each other and make one another laugh at small jokes that made them smile. As the class progressed, they kept talking to each other more and more and finally exchanged phone numbers so they could talk more while they weren’t in the class together. When the year came to an end, the boy and girl exchanged yearbooks and wrote things in them, and that’s when some feelings really started to build in the boy.

During the boys senior year in high school and the girls junior year, not much was going on until Prom started to be discussed. The boy made the decision to ask the girl to prom using a large sign and a bouquet of flowers holding them up in the school lobby at 3PM when school just got out for the day and waited for the girl to walk down the stairs as many people from the school gathered to watch it “go down”. As the girl walked down the stairs, she read the sign, said “yes” and all of the people watching cheered. The boy knew that the girl didn’t like large crowds of people watching her, but he did it anyway. The boy and girl went to prom together, and in the coming weeks went on their first date. Soon after the date came a kiss and in the coming days the first “I love you”. After the first “I love you” the rest was history. The girl was accepted to the University of Iowa, so they had to survive 4 long years of long distance which was presumably difficult at times. The boy would fly out to see the girl every chance he got, and he enjoyed getting to see her as much as he could.

On January 1, 2019 the boy made one of the best decisions of his life up to that point. He put a ring in a glass of champagne as soon as the clock struck midnight and waited for the girl to pick up the glass and got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. As you can probably already tell, she said yes. From that day on, the love between the boy and the girl grew even stronger, and now we are here, on the cusp of getting married so that the boy and the girl can spend the rest of their lives together and to live happily ever after. I started off by saying that this isn’t your typical love story, and it isn’t. However, it is the story of how a boy named Stafford and a girl named Lauren fell in love.
