Our Wedding

In 2021, we met while working as lifeguards during the summer before our senior year of high school. It was the start of a forbidden romance, Tosa West vs Tosa East (this debate still rages, though we will both soon be UW-Madison alumni). We had our first date at Lion's Den Gorge in Grafton, WI, and like a sign of good fortune, the Milwaukee Bucks won the World Championship that very day. On June 29th, 2024 we got engaged in the very spot we had that first date. We don't think you could write a cheesier Tosa high school romance if you tried. Throughout our four years together, we have grown together in our interests, education, faith, and family. We enjoy traveling together, skiing, hiking, swimming, and going to concerts. We push each other academically, both earning honors every semester of college in mechanical engineering and geographic information science respectively. We have fostered a deep faith together and have become part of each other's family traditions; Bennett learning to love summers on Drummond and Lauren starting her quest to see the national parks. It's the small things that remind us of the invisible string that brought us together. Like how Bennett's childhood home is two doors down from Linda's, how our grandfathers used to work together at the telephone company, and how we both dreamed of going to school in Madison. It's surreal to think that even under different circumstances, we are sure we would have found each other. Our wedding date, August 1st, 2026, falls on our five-year anniversary of becoming boyfriend and girlfriend. We are more in love today than ever and cannot wait to start married life together (though it is possible our shared friends are even more excited than we are).
