They were either ambitious or naive when they chose to have their first date on a Saturday night! After a fun dinner at Pier A, they walked along Battery Park and decided to get one last drink. In the cab, they held hands and there was an instant connection. After a five hour date, the night ended in typical NYC style with a good-bye kiss on the street.
Two years of wonderful memories later, Dan popped the question on Valentine’s Day along the same river where they first met. As they walked along the boardwalk on Roosevelt Island, he got down on one knee and proposed. Laurie’s hand was shaking and her response was “holy shit, dude.” The response was less than classy, but the proposal was just perfect!
They may not have met in the traditional way their parents and grandparents met, but they hope to have a loving marriage that lasts for decades. In the end, it’s not about where they met, but the adventure that comes after meeting. Join the next step in their journey on May 5th!
