Our Wedding

Lauryn and Kevin’s story began, as all great epics do… in high school band class. Freshman year. Trumpets in hand. Assigned seats kept placing them near each other, but fate (and a shared sense of sarcasm) is what kept them there. They traded jokes more than scales and built a rhythm of banter that somehow tuned perfectly to the sound of growing affection. By junior year, their friendship hit a high note—Kevin finally asked Lauryn out. Their first date was a thrilling adventure that included a movie, Whataburger, and nearly meeting an early end… because Kevin, bless his heart, hadn’t realized he was practically blind and drove like it. (Don’t worry—he got glasses two weeks later. Lauryn survived. Barely.) After that, weekends were filled with shared fries, awkward family introductions, and the kind of laughter that only makes sense between two people who just get each other. In 2019, they threw their caps in the air and went separate ways—Lauryn to Sam Houston State, Kevin straight into the working world. The distance between Huntsville and Nacogdoches didn’t stand a chance. Between long drives, longer calls, and way too many “I miss you” texts, they held it together with stubborn commitment and a shared playlist of love songs and memes. By 2022, Lauryn was rocking a diploma, working at the Temple Police Department. Kevin, meanwhile, went into business with his dad—because why not add “entrepreneur” to “romantic road warrior”? Though still apart, their weekends became sacred—Temple to Nac and back again, powered by gas station snacks and unwavering loyalty. Then, in 2024, the biggest milestone yet: a home. Together. In Temple. Finally, one zip code. Arguments? Sure. Fights? Occasionally. But like two musicians who hit the wrong note and keep going—they always found their way back to harmony. Lauryn earned her Master’s degree later that year, and Kevin, ever the showman, celebrated in style. He whisked her away to the Dominican Republic, filled their days with beaches and breathtaking views, and on December 18th, he took her to dinner and got down on one knee. Lauryn said yes so fast it nearly tripped the waiter. And just when she thought the moment couldn’t get any sweeter—he surprised her with a room full of her best friends. (Cue the tears, the champagne, and possibly an off-key karaoke version of “Endless Love.”) Now, after seven years of love, long drives, mismatched calendars, and unstoppable devotion, Lauryn and Kevin stand stronger than ever. Their story is one of patience, humor, and two people who may have started with trumpets, but now make music of a different kind—filled with laughter, love, and a few sarcastic remarks along the way. And the best part? The concert's only just beginning.
