Beautiful waterfront park/walk downtown.
The Battery is a landmark defensive seawall and promenade in Charleston, South Carolina. Named for a civil-war coastal defense artillery battery at the site, it stretches along the lower shores of the Charleston peninsula, bordered by the Ashley and Cooper Rivers, which meet here to form Charleston harbor.
These are the best biscuits Travis and I have ever had. Make sure to get there early for breakfast! There is not a place to sit down and eat so we usually take ours down to one of the park's downtown (the Battery or Joe Riley Waterfront Park) and sit and eat them.
Shem Creek is located near our wedding venue and hotel blocks. You can walk to the harbor and the recreational docks, or take the span that leads to the commercial docks where you can get a close-up look at working shrimp and crab boats. There are plenty of restaurants on the water. It is beautiful during sunset and we almost always see a pod of dolphins.
It will still be warm in Charleston in October! Go check out the beautiful ocean at Isle of Palms which is only 15 minutes from our wedding venue.
Park circle is located in North Charleston - about 15-20 minutes from our wedding venue. Park circle is filled with bars, breweries, and restaurants all located on the same block. It is a cool place to walk around and parking is very easy to find.
