From the very first playful message, when Preston saw Layne’s post about her golden retriever, Romeo, and replied, “I am going to steal him,” Layne was charmed by his quick wit and their conversation never stopped. Almost immediately, they noticed a calm in each other’s presence, a peace they believe comes from God.

As Colossians 3:14 says, “And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.” That love and peace has guided every step of their journey.

From ski trips in Vail where Preston’s patience won Layne’s heart, to nights studying finance and accounting, to the laughter they share while dancing at the Stockyards, their relationship has been built on encouragement, joy, and faith. Even in the little moments, God has been teaching them how to love each other and honor Him through their life together.

On July 18, Preston recreated their first date at The Book Shop in Frisco before leading Layne to the Dallas Petroleum Club, overlooking the city skyline. With family and friends waiting nearby, he knelt down and asked the most important question of his life. Layne’s answer was a joyful and resounding “Yes!”

Layne and Preston will be married on January 31, 2026, and they are thrilled to invite you to share this special moment with them. They feel incredibly blessed to share their story and cannot wait for all the beautiful chapters still to come.
