It all started in 2019 when Lea, a freshman, and Aaron, a sophomore, first crossed paths as high schoolers. Their connection was instant, and soon after, they went on their first date—a simple yet perfect fishing trip followed by a cozy picnic. Before Aaron dropped Lea off at home that night, Lea left her jacket in Aarons truck, making sure hed have to see her again. Little did they know, that small act would set the stage for a love that would only grow stronger with time.


In between, Aaron has proudly become a North Carolina State Trooper as of August 2024, while Lea is on track to graduate from nursing school at UNC Chapel Hill in May of 2026. Together, they share a deep passion for serving others. At home, they’re joined by their beloved fur baby, Beau, a Chesapeake Bay Retriever, who adds endless joy and love to their lives.


Five years since their first date, Aaron took Lea back to that same spot where it all began, recreating the first picnic they shared. He got down on one knee and proposed, marking the start of a new chapter in their incredible journey together.
