In the spring of 2020, Leah was sent home from school in Colorado early due to covid. After she became bored sitting at home through quarantine she ended up meeting Josh. Josh was insistent on going on a date, to which Leah said no....multiple times...and on the final ask she decided to give him a chance. Josh showed up to Leahs front door fashioned in one of his signature flannels and opened the door of his blue dodge challenger for her, which she continued to call a "mustang," for six months before he corrected. Leah asked where they were going, but Josh insisted on it being a surprise. They stopped at sonic for slushies. Then Josh drove them to a very pretty park where he walked them to a hill that overlooked the sunset. He laid out a picnic blanket; the very one pictured above and a few candles to light, and Leah and Josh sat out in this spot and talked until it got dark. Josh asked Leah how many first graders she could fight before tapping out and explained to her that he really thinks he could take on a wolf in a fight, and Leah wondered what she had gotten herself into, but, the rest is history.

It has been nearly 5 years since this first sunset picnic, and since then Leah and Josh have been inseparable. They have camped together in the Sandhills. They have climbed more trees than they could count to get the best hunting spot. They have watched hundreds of sunrises and sunsets together, and they intend to watch hundreds more. They hike together. They watch movies together. They cook together. They worship together. They pray together, and they intend to do all of this together for the rest of their lives.

We are so lucky to have found our best friend in one another.
