Our Wedding

Leah and Alex’s story began at Brigham Young University, where they both served as Resident Assistants. Though their responsibilities as Resident Assistants often kept them busy, their paths crossed multiple times in meaningful ways. One of their very first interactions happened when Alex, then serving as the Ward Secretary, received a message from Leah, who was reaching out to schedule an appointment with the Bishop. In a moment that would become a charming part of their story, Alex mistakenly got her name wrong—but little did they know, it wouldn’t matter for long. After all, she’d soon be changing it anyway.

How We Met

A few weeks into the new semester, Alex picked up the phone and, called Leah out of the blue. He asked if he could “take her out,” a phrase that, in his mind, clearly signaled a date. Leah, however, took it as a friendly gesture—after all, they were friends, and she wasn’t entirely sure what his intentions were.Their first outing was to a sushi restaurant, filled with easy conversation and laughter. To Alex, it was unmistakably a date. To Leah, it was just a casual dinner—at least for the time being. A week later, Alex asked her out again, and once more, Leah agreed, still unsure of what it all meant but hoping it would lead to something.That evening ended differently. As they said goodbye, Alex asked if he could kiss her—a clear gesture that left no room for confusion. Her reply was an immediate yes. In that moment, everything fell into place. Yes, it had been a date all along.Another week passed, filled with sweet conversations, growing feelings, and shared moments—and together, they decided to make it official. What started with a phone call and a bit of uncertainty soon became something neither of them wanted to let go of. And the rest, as they say, is history.

How We Started Dating

Leah and Alex got engaged on April 12, 2025. It was a private yet intimate moment shared just between the two of them. As soon as Alex got down on one knee and began to say “I love you,” Leah was already in tears.
