Our StoryJacob, a junior, and Leah, a freshman at MSUM, often crossed paths in Nemzek Hall, where they both spent a lot of time practicing and competing with their respective teams- track and field for him, dance for her.&nbsp;It wasn’t until July of 2020, after the world shut down, that they introduced themselves through social media and started to chat.&nbsp;After a summer of texting and quarantine, they finally went on their first date in September. It was the start of something special, and not long after, they made it official. They spent the rest of that year together in Moorhead, making memories between classes, practices, and events. After Jacob graduated, he began graduate&nbsp;school in the fall of 2021 in Bloomington, MN, and they began the challenge of long-distance. Over the next 4 years, Jacob continued working hard pursuing&nbsp;his chiropractic degree, and Leah began graduate school in Moorhead, MN, for speech language pathology. While they each pursued their degrees, they navigated the ups and downs of weekend visits, school stress, and late-night FaceTimes, always choosing each other. On August 13, 2023, during a weekend getaway full&nbsp;of surprises on Diamond Lake, Jacob proposed, and Leah said yes! Now, after years of growing together and miles apart, they are finally sharing a home and looking forward to their next chapter- side by side, forever.
