In December of 2023, Daniel’s closest friend, Josh Jarvis, showed him some pictures of a girl’s Instagram. He told Daniel that she was his fiancée’s single friend from Clovis, NM. Meanwhile, Leah’s best friend, Mckayla Baisden, texted her some pictures of a random guy and asked, “Thoughts on the blonde guy?” She went on to tell Leah all about him, explaining that he was her fiancé’s single friend from college. Leah and Daniel met for the first time on January 16th, 2024 while Leah was attending a conference at Heartland Baptist Bible College. Their conversation was short and a little uncomfortable because of all the pressure from Josh and Mckayla. Little did they know, though, that was the beginning of their story. Fast forward a few months to April 13th. Leah went to visit Mckayla in Oklahoma City. After dinner, Mckayla convinced Leah to go to campus and watch Josh and Daniel play basketball. After the game, they all sat and talked for a while. Then, Mckayla and Josh intentionally drifted into another conversation, leaving Leah and Daniel to talk on their own. That night, they both left a little more interested in each other. They began praying and waiting to see if God would bring anything out of it. Three months later, on July 25th, Leah and Daniel were at Josh and Mckayla’s wedding. Leah was the Maid of Honor, and Daniel was the Best Man. Leading up to the wedding, both Josh and Mckayla had talked quite a bit about trying to set them up. While Leah and Daniel laughed it off outwardly, inwardly they both sensed something was different and hoped it would grow into more. Their time in Arizona for the Jarvis wedding was full of meaningful moments. As the Maid of Honor and Best Man, Leah and Daniel spent a lot of time together. If they weren’t already paired up, Daniel somehow always found a way to help Leah with whatever she was doing. Before they knew it, the wedding was over. Leah had been convinced Daniel would ask for her number before they left Arizona—but he decided to wait to add some suspense. The next morning, they each boarded planes and went their separate ways. A couple of days later, though, Daniel responded to one of Leah’s Instagram stories. That sparked a conversation, and before long, he asked for her number so they could get to know each other better. Over the next two months, they texted, called, and Daniel visited Leah in Clovis as often as he could. On October 11th, Daniel took Leah out to dinner at Applebee’s. Afterwards, they went back to Leah’s family’s house. When they arrived, Daniel said he had left something in his car. Leah went inside but couldn’t find anyone. She stepped onto the back porch and noticed a bonfire burning. As she opened the door, she heard “Can’t Help Falling in Love” playing and saw Daniel walking around the corner with roses, a teddy bear, and a black gift bag holding a heart necklace from Zales. He read her a poem he had written, ending with the question of whether she would be his girlfriend. Leah, of course, said “Yes!” Leah and Daniel continued their long-distance relationship, seeing each other whenever possible. If Daniel wasn’t in Clovis, chances were high that Leah was in Oklahoma! In April of the following year, Daniel began a weekend internship at Leah’s home church, and seeing each other every weekend became the highlight of their weeks. In May, Daniel graduated from Heartland Baptist Bible College, moved to Clovis, NM, and joined the staff at Westbrook Baptist Church. At last, the long-distance season was over! Leah and Daniel spent the summer serving together and loving every minute of not being 5 ½ hours apart. On August 8th, Daniel proposed at Sandia Crest in Albuquerque, NM. The moment was everything Leah had dreamed of: a photographer, a heart-shaped arch of red roses, and a violinist playing all their favorite songs. It was the easiest “YES!” of her life. Leah and Daniel will be married on December 5th, 2025. They are overjoyed to begin their forever together!

Sarah is one of Leah’s sisters. The two have been inseparable since the day Leah was born. Being only 21 months apart in age, it felt more like having a built in best friend than a sister! Leah and Sarah are practically the same person and there’s never a dull moment when the two are together!

Josh is one of Daniel's brothers. From a very young age, Daniel and Josh grew very close. The closer they became, the more they realized that being called a brother or best friend just didn’t cut it. They decided early on that they’d be buds. From singing karaoke for hours to becoming mediocre at nearly every hobby known to man, there’s no one more deserving of being the Best Man than him.

McKayla has been Leah’s best friend since she spent a summer internship in Clovis three summers ago. She’s the one who told Leah about Daniel! Leah was Maid of Honor(and Daniel was the Best Man!) at McKayla’s wedding last summer. McKayla and her husband are the masterminds behind Leah and Daniel’s relationship!

McKayla Jarvis

Jarvis has been Daniel’s closest friend since day one at college. They knew they'd be bros for life. He was the one that told Daniel about Leah! Daniel was Jarvis’s Best Man at his wedding last summer. Jarvis and his wife are the masterminds behind Leah and Daniel’s relationship!

Josh Jarvis

Hannah is one of Leah’s sisters. Hannah and Leah are very close! If they’re together, chances are they’re at a coffee shop…It’s one of their favorite things! Hannah has played a huge part in Leah’s life and is an incredible older sister!

Hannah Tunnell 

Blake is Daniel’s oldest brother. They share the same appreciation for food and have never had a single shallow moment together. He is of course an awesome brother. Whenever you need to relax, enjoy some incredible food, or feel loved, Blake is the man to see.

Katie is Leah’s sister-in-law. Katie joined the Tunnell family when she married Leah’s brother in 2019. Katie is so much more than just a sister-in-law! She is such an amazing friend and Leah couldn’t imagine her life without her!

Chris is one of Daniel’s brothers—the one who pushed him onto his first roller coaster. Daniel has never once doubted his love for him and is thankful to have a brother like Chris. They are, of course, very close to one another, and Chris definitely deserves a spot as a groomsman.

Alyssa is Leah’s cousin and her childhood best friend. From sleepovers, music videos, candy reviews, and dreaming of moving to California together when they were adults — to now being adults, Alyssa has always been a constant in Leah’s life! Leah was honored to be one of Alyssa’s bridesmaids last year. Words could never express how grateful Leah is to be not only family but also friends with her!

Alyssa Phillips

Carter is one of Daniel’s closest friends. When Daniel first moved to Indiana, Carter was the first friend he made. In the beginning, their friendship often felt like a love–hate relationship, but over the years, Carter has become more than a friend—he’s a brother.

Krisen is Leah’s “sis”. Krisen moved to Clovis, NM from the Philippians back in 2016. Krisen is such a sweet friend and sister to Leah! Krisen truly is a light to all those around her! Leah is so grateful for her friendship!

Krisen Chavez

Domanick is Daniel’s little brother. Daniel prayed from a very young age to become a big bro, and Domanick was his prayer answered. From special bro nights to asking for whatever the person in front of them ordered, there is never a dull moment with this guy. He sure is loved and definitely deserves a spot with the guys.
