A decade ago, the Stewart family attended church at 1801 S Logan St, Denver. Exactly five blocks down Colorado Ave, the Van Donselaar family was attending church at 1814 S Emerson St, Denver. The span was crossed once a year when the two churches partnered to co-host summer camp. As camp counselors, Arik and Leah were introduced. Alas, they were young, awkward, and intimidated by one another. After high school, college, and even grad school, Leah returned from her adventure in Michigan to her home in Colorado. By the prompting of mutual friend and mastermind, Andrew James Koneman, Arik and Leah re-met while touring Coors Brewery in Golden. After a season of barbecues and cautious texting, Arik finally asked Leah out. Their first date was the most elaborate and exhausting date ever achieved. Yet, it made an impression. The second date happened a few days later and more followed. After a couple months, Arik declared, "I think it's entirely possible I'm going to marry you someday." Leah wasn't yet convinced. So Arik patiently convinced her. She was finally swayed atop Keystone Mountain with a temporary ring made from a coin, in a box made from a Coors Brewery coaster. The permanent ring, made from Arik's designs and a familial diamond, was finished just before his jeweler abruptly and tragically passed away. The ring waits in a vault pending legal process while Arik and Leah wait with anticipation and joy to be married.
We finally got the ring (3 and a half months after its due date) and we can't wait to show you!
