Booking your stay at Cerritos Surf Town

Our wedding will take place at <a href="https://www.cerritossurftown.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Cerritos Surf Town</a>, right on Cerritos Beach. We also plan to host a small, informal welcome gathering at the venue, so staying on site can be a fun and convenient option if you’d like to be close to the festivities. We now have extremely limited availability remaining within our room block. If you are interested in staying at the venue, please reach out to Leah directly and she will be happy to help guide you through the booking process and connect you with the reservations team. Please note: The cut-off date for reservations within our room block is October 15th, 2026.

Our Wedding

Jess and I first crossed paths in 2017 while traveling for work. He was doing logistics with Xtreme TM for Cooper Tires, and I was a brand ambassador for Marketing Activations Group. We were both living out of suitcases and spending more time in airports and at race tracks than at home. Those monthly event meet ups gradually evolved until we finally admitted what we both already knew: we wanted to be more than just friends.

My family welcomed Jess with the signature Weiske welcome: plenty of beer, cheese, and arms wide open. They certainly wouldn't have complained if we'd stayed in Wisconsin, but Jess’s heart was in Oregon, and I think I always knew I’d eventually head West, too. After a year of long distance, I finally decided it was time. Since my dad had already spent years as my dedicated airport chauffeur, helping me make the move across the country was just the logical next step.

On August 19, 2019, we packed my Ford Focus to the brim, hitched an extremely questionable U-Haul, and hit the road with my dad, Dan, and brother, Josh. Huge shoutout to my dad for being the wide-eyed, white-knuckled hero who navigated the PNW mountains, and to Josh for keeping us laughing the whole way. Four days and 2,100 miles later, after a very sleepy, "don't make us drive back here later" IKEA stop and a near death experience involving a treacherous GPS route and an empty gas tank, I officially landed in Oregon. Jess was settled in with his best friend, Nan, and I had my little studio apartment; from there, we took our time figuring out the rest.

The next few years tested us in ways we didn’t expect. COVID hit just as I was settling in, and I bounced through a handful of jobs — hemp farming, bartending, and teaching little ones gymnastics. Quite the eclectic resume! Through it all, Jess never stopped encouraging me. With a little help from his parents, I landed an interview with Baker Charter Schools in 2020, and by 2021, Jess had bought his first home.

Moving in together meant learning each other’s rhythms—like Jess quickly discovering I have no idea how to wake up early—and compromising on decor, which mostly meant no motorcycles in the living room. Once we settled into our new normal, I focused on finding my people. When making friends as an adult during a pandemic felt nearly impossible, I walked into Orangetheory and found the friendships I truly needed and value so much. Over time, Jess's childhood friends became some of my closest people, too. His parents and brother welcomed me like the daughter/sister they never had; while Jess was still traveling for work, we spent so much time getting to know each other over dinners, trips, and long conversations. I felt like a part of the family from day one. Between all of them, we built the community that makes Oregon home.

Meanwhile, Jess was navigating his own transitions. Leaving Xtreme TM was bittersweet; he’d essentially grown up there, and the daily camaraderie with that wonderful group of people is something irreplaceable. But as he looked toward the future, his path led him hundreds of feet into the air as a towerman for Alyrica Internet. Getting photos of him hanging off the side of a tower was more than a little terrifying, but Jess handled it with his signature calm confidence. That same drive led him to launch his own welding and metal fabrication business in 2024, and seeing his hard work pay off has made me so proud.

Together, life has been one adventure after another. Jess taught me how to ride a motorcycle, how to surf (still working on that one), and we've racked up countless camping trips and travels, from road trips to adventures abroad. In March 2024, we added Brudus to the picture, our 120 pound Newfie who thinks he's a lap dog and drools and sheds with impressive commitment. He is hands down the sweetest boy in the world.

What started as chance encounters has turned into a life we've built together, filled with adventure, community, growth, &amp; alllllll the love. Now, we're ready to celebrate and make it official. If you read all of that, you're a real one. Can't wait to see you on the beach! I'll bring the beers.

Our Story

Where will the wedding take place?

From Los Cabos Airport (SJD), head north on Highway 19 toward Todos Santos. The drive takes about an hour. Take the Cerritos Beach exit and follow the signs to Cerritos Surf Town. Renting a car is the easiest option. There are a couple of tolls along the way, so having about $30-40 USD handy is helpful. They do not take card. On Saturday, 11/21, we’ll have a beach ceremony, followed by a cocktail hour, and then dinner and dancing right next to the beach by the pool.

Do I need a passport?

Yes! You’ll need a valid passport to travel to Mexico. Make sure it’s not expired and has at least 6 months of validity from the travel date.

Where are the closest hotels or places to stay?

Our wedding will take place at <a href="https://www.cerritossurftown.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Cerritos Surf Town</a> right on beautiful Cerritos Beach on the Pacific side of Baja. It’s a small, charming property and a fun, convenient place to stay if you’d like to be close to both the wedding and welcome gathering. Cerritos Surf Town is currently fully booked outside of the small number of 2 bedroom villas remaining within our reserved room block. If you are interested in staying at the venue, please reach out to Leah and she will be happy to help guide you through the booking process and connect you with the reservations team. Our block is available through October 15th, 2026, subject to availability. We also recommend occasionally checking sites like Expedia, as rooms sometimes become available due to cancellations (many reservations offer free cancellation up to about a month before arrival).There are also many great nearby places to stay within walking distance or a short drive of the venue. Vacation rentals: There are tons of Airbnbs and villas around Cerritos Beach — perfect for groups, families, or anyone who wants a little extra space. What should I wear?

The wedding party will be in suits and long dresses, so we suggest cocktail attire — but truly, we just want you to feel comfortable and enjoy yourselves. When we visited in November, daytime temps were in the high 70s and evenings dipped into the high 60s/low 70s. It definitely gets cooler once the sun goes down, especially right on the beach, so bringing a light layer is a great idea.

Are kids invited? 

Yes! It wouldn’t be a party without them! Just let us know if you’ll be bringing them when you RSVP so we can plan accordingly.

What are your favorite restaurants?

Same Same But DifferentRight down the road from CST. We had an amazing breakfast here — super good food &amp; delicious cappuccinos. Cerritos Dog Rescue CafeOur favorite find. You can sip coffee while playing with rescue pups, and even take them for walks on the beach. The women who run it are wonderful and work so hard to keep the rescue going. Such a wholesome, happy stop — highly recommend. Shaka’sA fun, beachy sports-bar vibe with great food and drinks. Really laid back and perfect for a casual lunch or dinner. It’s close, easy, and a great spot for groups. Barracuda CantinaThis open-air beach bar serves up craft cocktails, fish tacos and ceviche right on the sand of Cerritos Beach. Very laid-back, surf friendly, and perfect for a casual meal or sunset drink. Cocina de Campo by AgricoleJust a short drive from Cerritos Surf Town, this beautiful farm to table restaurant sits on a working garden in El Pescadero. It holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand distinction for its fresh, locally sourced dishes and relaxed, open air atmosphere. It’s also located next to a popular grocery store with a delicious bakery, a great prepared food section, and their famous strawberries and cream cup. A perfect stop for a nice lunch, dinner or snacks! Local Mini MartsThere are several little markets around the area where you can grab snacks, drinks, sunscreen, or anything you forgot. Super convenient, especially if you’re staying at or near CST. TODOS SANTOS Tacos El PoblanoTheir al pastor and carne asada tacos are highly recommended — handmade tortillas! Caffe Todos SantosBeloved café in downtown Todos Santos with lovely outdoor seating, good breakfast, and a relaxing atmosphere.

What can we do around Cerritos and Todos Santos? 

Cerritos Beach is known for excellent surfing (with multiple spots to rent boards or take lessons, including right at CST), beautiful beach days, and stunning sunsets. Todos Santos is about a 20 minute drive from Cerritos Beach and offers charming art galleries, coffee shops, taco spots, and tiny boutiques.

This is where we’re getting married and where the welcome party will be! The beautiful Cerritos Beach is on the Pacific side of Baja. CST is a small, charming property and a fun, convenient place to stay if you’d like to be close to both the wedding and welcome gathering. Please see the Q&amp;A tab for a list of recommended places to stay in the area. Please keep in mind that we will not be providing transportation to and from the venue, so we recommend choosing accommodations nearby for convenience.

Other Important Travel Info

We highly recommend renting a car to get from the Los Cabos airport to Cerritos Beach — it’s about an hour’s drive. There are a couple of tolls along the way, so we suggest bringing around $40 USD just to be safe. They accepted USD at the toll booths, so pesos weren’t required — card not accepted.
