Our Story

Adventure is Out There

Picture of Adventure is Out There

Adventure is out there—that’s how so many of our favorite stories begin. This story started in college at WCSU, where I met Javaughn through the music education program. While I was diving headfirst into becoming an elementary music teacher, embracing my "Jessica Day" persona, Javaughn quickly realized that the world of audio engineering was more his speed after discovering that actually working with kids required being in a school for most of the day. Add in his love of acting and drive to be able to work independently this soon led into his current career of voice acting- and I couldn't be more thrilled he found something to make him so happy(while still giving us the freedom to travel the world;)

After college, we moved to Providence, RI, for our first grand adventure as a couple, making it in the big city—or at least, the kind of big that fits our style. Here we found our love for coffee, dedicated time to creating my own music curriculum business, and learned what we had really signed up for-fights over who does the dishes, my constant need for, "one more quick walk", and our continuous search for something new and exciting either in the neighborhood or on our frequent trips to see his family in Georgia.

Five years and one pandemic later, we decided to take on an even bigger challenge. We calmed down our families (mostly mine and Cecilia Davis), bought a 7,000 lb travel trailer, and hit the road! From Georgia to the Arizona, the New Mexico deserts, dipping our toes in the Pacific in sunny San Diego, and even climbing 11,000 feet up in Colorado, we explored it all(at least all we could fit in for that first trip out) before returning to Connecticut for our next big adventure—helping to launch an environmental company(that fiancé of mine is a man of many talents).

This winter marks 10 years of being together, and we’re choosing this fall to spend the rest of all our decades together—this was definitely a decision we didn’t rush! We are so thankful for all the friends and family who have been on this journey with us, and we cannot wait to see you on October 26th! What’s next? We’re dying to find out! "Adventure is Out There!"
