Our Wedding

How It All Began...

We met through mutual friends at church during&nbsp;high school, but our friendship really took off when we interned with the youth department at Willow Park Church in 2014.&nbsp; Zach had his eye on Leanne for quite some time, and even asked her on a date once or twice, to which she politely declined.&nbsp; After a couple of years of good friendship, Leanne realized what she felt&nbsp;for Zach was&nbsp;much more than just her "best guy friend", and nervously confessed her feelings for him during the summer of 2016 (much to Zach's delight - and surprise).&nbsp; We made it official on August 25th, and have happily been together ever since.&nbsp; We even made it through six months of extreme long distance while Leanne travelled to Europe, the Middle East, and Africa with Youth With A Mission.&nbsp; It was not at all easy, but we made it work, and the reunion in June of 2017 was sweet.&nbsp; Zach popped the question on November 18th, and we are so excited to be planning our wedding celebration for the fall of 2018!

Jo and I became friends during the internship with the Willow Park Church youth department in 2014.&nbsp; We bonded instantly&nbsp;and became best friends quickly, having multiple sleepovers every week (she even had a toothbrush at my house).&nbsp; Jo knows me inside and out, and can probably tell what I'm thinking without me saying a word.&nbsp;&nbsp;We have stayed just as close ever since, through new relationships, moving away for school, travelling the world, and now both of us are embarking on the adventure of getting married!&nbsp; Doing life with Jo is such a blessing, and I am so thankful to have a girl like her standing next to me on my big day!

Jameson and I became friends in grade 8. After we found out that we had the same birthday a few months later we became best friends! From spending everyday after school hanging out around the mission to leading a care group together at our church. &nbsp;His family quickly&nbsp;became my second family, and Jameson has been a brother to me ever since.

Erwin and I met in high school, we became friends in grade 9 while sharing a few classes together. A fun memory I have is&nbsp;Erwin casually walking around the school and going home for headphones and disappearing for long periods during&nbsp;class. Our friendship has grown the most over the past few years. Another thing we will share in common is being&nbsp;each others groomsman!&nbsp;I am blessed to have him by my side.

Maddi moved into the house right next door to mine when we were just three years old.&nbsp; I don't remember not knowing her, she was just always there, only a few steps away!&nbsp; Our moms took turns babysitting us through elementary school, and Maddi and I remained as close as sisters throughout middle and high school.&nbsp; Though we are doing different things with our lives and don't see each other as often, she is like family to me and always will be.&nbsp; I feel so lucky to have grown up alongside this wonderful girl, and to continue to call her one of my dearest friends!

Daniel has to be the kindest, most generous person I know. Daniel and I became friends on the LA 2012 missions trip my youth group puts on. Forcing him to sit beside me for hours on end on a crammed school bus really does the trick. I have spent numerous hours and days over at his parents house hanging with him and his family, in fact Daniel, his parents and I are going to Europe in August together!&nbsp;Daniel is a stupendous friend whom I cherish.&nbsp;

Syd and I met in kindergarten, and have been good friends ever since.&nbsp; One of my favourite memories with her is trying out for the school talent show in grade 3 or 4.&nbsp; We performed "O Canada" - she sang, I played the piano. We didn't end up making the cut for the actual show (probably because we were just&nbsp;too good), but we practiced like crazy and made some hilarious memories.&nbsp; It feels as though Sydney and I have done almost everything together; from elementary, middle, and high school, to the WPC youth program internship, to our&nbsp;first year of college, and even travelling Europe!&nbsp; She has been a faithful friend my whole life, and I feel honoured to do life with her year after year.&nbsp;

I&nbsp;met Melissa years ago&nbsp;when I was in high school and going to youth group&nbsp;at Willow Park Church, where she was and still is a youth leader,&nbsp;but we became good friends during my&nbsp;internship at WPC.&nbsp; She was on staff at Willow Park with the youth department&nbsp;at the&nbsp;time, but became a mentor to me as the year progressed.&nbsp; She's also been a close friend of Zach's for quite some time, and was in full support of me and him dating long before I realized my feelings for Zach (she was the ultimate wing-woman).&nbsp; Melissa is one of the most generous, humble, and loyal people I've ever met, and she continues to be a voice of wisdom and honesty in my life. I feel lucky to have such a supportive friend like her, and I am honoured that she will stand next to me on one of the biggest days of my life.

I have know Kurtis since high school, we never really became friends until a couple years after&nbsp;graduation. We had both matured&nbsp;a little bit,&nbsp;and we found each other popping into the others life more and more.

Hello friends and family!!We would like to know if anyone would use a shuttle going up to Idabel lake from Willow park church in Kelowna to get to our wedding venue.&nbsp; If wanting to take the shuttle please arrive at 1:00pm on the day of,&nbsp;the shuttle will&nbsp;leave at 1:15pm. The shuttle is planned to leave Idabel Lake&nbsp; at 10:15pm after the sending off celebration! Please contact Zach at zach.smeltzer@gmail.com if you are interested in getting up this way!
