The weekend of July 21, 2023, we headed to Dallas for a Shania Twain concert where we had on-stage VIP tickets. I had purchased an engagement ring in Midland in preparation for this day. I had to keep the ring in my backpack that I took back and forth to work in fear of Leigh Ann finding it since we were in the process of moving. On the day of the concert, I had the ring hidden on me and had some help from the event planner at the concert. I waited in anticipation for the concert to start and for us to get called up on stage. Once it was time for us to go up on stage, Leigh Ann was distracted and I pulled the ring box out and held it behind my back. While on stage, Shania Twain sang "From This Moment On" and we stood on stage watching the performance. Towards the end of the song, I began to prepare myself. Once the song ended, I got down on one knee and asked Leigh Ann to marry me, to which she responded "You mean it", shortly followed by a "Yes". We shared a moment together on stage and with Shania Twain. The crowd of around 20,000 people in attendance cheered for us as we were finally engaged.
