Our journey together began in the world of internet dating apps back in 2017. After one date at Cava in Capitol Hill and some interesting ghost-written texts by Leigh’s friends during their 10 Year High School Reunion at Emerald Isle, things did not initially work out between Jon and Leigh.

Fast forward a couple years later to 2019, Jon and Leigh matched on a different dating app where Leigh attempted to put Jon in the seemingly inescapable “friend zone.” Undeterred and with only a slight wound to his pride, Jon went about his merry way of living the bachelor lifestyle (p.s. Leigh did too).

In June of 2019, something changed in Leigh’s heart. Emboldened by some liquid courage, she reached back out to Jon on social media and asked to meet up. Jon was flying back from Dallas that night, but something told him “third time is a charm” and he agreed to meet Leigh in Old Town Alexandria at Murphy’s Irish Pub.

That night changed everything.

2 year’s worth of memories later and we’ve navigated a global pandemic, adopted two furry pups into our family, and have begun our search for our first single family home together. Back in January, Jon popped the question by taking Leigh on a trip down memory lane throughout Old Town where they went to brunch, had a drink at Murphy’s Irish Pub, and were surprised back at Leigh’s apartment by our families and our dogs. Luckily it didn’t take three attempts and Leigh said yes. We can’t wait to celebrate with y’all and for this exciting new chapter to begin!
