how did we meet

Taking it back to Spring 2010, Lena was a freshman and Marwan was a junior, both attending Bellaire High School. Lena was actually friends with Marwan's sister, Sarah through Arabic club. They were introduced and became friends all throughout high school. Lena had a huge crush on Marwan, so when she had her big quinceañera, she asked Marwan to be her main chambelan. In the Fall of 2011, Marwan decided to leave for college and moved away to New York, and Lena stayed in Houston. During holiday vacations, Marwan came back to Houston to visit his family, and he would run into Lena everywhere. They crossed paths at the mall, at the gym, and out with friends. As time passes, it was destiny that brought them back together. Fast forward to 2018, Marwan decided to move back to Houston. After settling back home, Marwan and Lena decided to give a chance at love. They went out on a romantic date to Gloria's for their first official date and the rest is history.

DATING

Starting December 2018, dating has been nothing short of fun and adventures. Lena and Marwan both share a love for traveling, food, and music. Lena and Marwan have traveled to different cities and states together, such as New Orleans, Las Vegas, San Diego, Hawaii, and Washington D.C. Traveling to Mexico also has a magical place in their hearts. Their first international trip together was to Cancun back in 2019. Another favorite trip together was Paris. Marwan has also been very supportive with Lena's personal hobbies such as belly dancing at the annual Texas Renaissance Festival. Wherever there is adventure, Lena and Marwan will be there!

the proposal

May 2023: When a romantic vacation in Tulum turned into a magical proposal. With a "surprise dinner" planned at the end of the trip, they got ready for a nice and romantic night. Lena was stressing about running late, meanwhile Marwan had everything under control. As they left their room and were walking towards the other side of the resort, Marwan made sure Lena's vision was down towards the ground, having her avoid looking up. As they made it across the whole resort, passing up a pool, all alone Lena sees the giant letters "MARRY ME" at the edge of a cliff overlooking the ocean and sunset. Assuming someone else was going to get proposed to, Marwan turned to Lena and said "this is for you babe." A cameraman followed them down to the cliff to take candid pictures and capture every moment. Lena was in disbelief the whole time until Marwan got down on one knee and pulled out the most beautiful ring.
