When I met Riley I wasn't expecting much to happen. However serendipitous, a few weeks before I had told a good friend that I felt there was someone who I was supposed to be with, but I hadn't found him yet. I decided to make a dating app profile and said "just looking for friends". Little did I know when we went skiing together a few days later, that would be my last first date. We met up half way through the ski day and the weather turned sour. We took a few runs and I led the way, seeing if he could keep up. After he passed the test (even as a snowboarder) and rime was covering our entire bodies, we decided to head into Ed and Mully's. We talked about our family, backgrounds, and hobbies until it closed down. He drove me in his Corolla to my Prius, and it was then that I knew he was my kind of dentist.
Our second date we went xc skiing in West Glacier park, then we spent every weekend (except for 3) driving 2.5 hours between Missoula and Columbia Falls for the next year. I knew I fell in love with Riley when we were driving to Weir Hot Springs talking about our past, present, and future dreams. We could've kept talking the day away if we hadn't already arrived. I fell in love with his gentle spirit, calm positivity, and drive for life. Riley is truly a man who challenges me and cherishes me, and I couldn't be more lucky to of found him.
When Lena and I first met, she was just looking for friends and lucky for me it didn't work out that way. Our first date was skiing at Big Mountain on a foggy and rimy day. Ice would constantly build up on our goggles, pants, jackets, just everything. Noticing that Lena wasn't talking much and shivering on the chairlift I invited her to go seek refuge at Ed and Mullys. The cozy and warm environment definitely got us both talking. I then could sense Lena's kindness, thoughtfulness, beauty and intellect through our conversations that was drawing me in. I won't forget how easy it was to go into deep talks about life, relationships, friends, family, adventures and goals. Before you knew it we had closed the place down and it was time for us to go, but I knew we had a magnetism that would propel us and led us to spend every weekend adventuring around western Montana.
