Located just minutes from the bride's childhood home and a staple in Cajun Country for the last 47 years, Suire's has a little something for everyone. It's owned and run by two sisters, Ms. Joan and Ms. Lisa, who will be quick to tell you that "it's God's store, we just manage it." Once featured on the late Anthony Bourdain's "Parts Unknown", Suire's has drawn quite the crowd of locals and long distance travelers alike. LeRyn and her two brothers practically grew up in this little store and have eaten just about everything on the menu.
Bride's Recommendation: Shrimp Stew & a Blackberry Tart
Groom's Recommendation: Piece of Pecan Pie
Located 2 minutes from St. Anne's.
LeRyn would have lived and died as a cashier at Five Oaks Grocery, if Jesus hadn't called her to Damascus. In the three years leading up to her move to Ohio, she could be found behind the counter of that store telling her favorite co-worker, Donna, to "be nice!" to the customers. Five Oaks is owned by proud Catholics, Brian and Radina Hollier, who have become like a second family to LeRyn. Be sure to grab a link of boudin while you're in the area!
Or have yourself a $1 scratch off ticket and a BBQ Burger like MawMaw Rita liked to do!
We love you. We want good things for you.
Please grab some Pepper Jack Stuffed Boudin Balls and a coke when you're passing through Maurice. You can't miss it. (Mostly because Maurice is "technically" a Village and "definitely" a speed trap, so you'll be going about 45 MPH.)
Pincher's, established in 2021, may be the new kid on the block BUT their team hit the ground running! They know that the best seafood is "fresh off the boat" and are passionate about bringing people together through food, which is what us Cajuns do best!
Bride's Recommendation: Crawfish Wontons
Groom's Recommendation: Fried Alligator
Warning: Mother of the Bride is HIGHLY addicted to this stuff and we don't blame her. DRIP serves up a mean Caramel Macchiato. You can thank us later.
Do yourself a favor and order a Crab Cake smothered in Crawfish Étouffée. Just trust us. But you honestly can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
Bride's Recommendation: Crab Cake w/ Crawfish Étouffée
Groom's Recommendations: Fried Shrimp Po' Boy
Across the street from the beautiful Saint Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in historic downtown Abbeville.
"Dupuy's was established by Joseph Dupuy in 1869.
Joseph, who harvested his own oysters and sold them for $.05 a dozen, started a tradition which would continue through three generations. Dupuy's has enjoyed over 150 years of success in its original location. World famous for its oysters on the 1/2 shell and outstanding seafood, this Dupuy's tradition is carried on by owners Jody and Tonya Hebert and will be for many years to come."
Bride's Recommendation: Literally Anything
Groom's Recommendation: Raw Oysters
Note: Not open for lunch on Saturday.
But if you are looking for a delish steak or seafood some other time during the weekend, Riverfront won't leave you wanting! Located across from LeRyn's high school, Vermilion Catholic.
Couple's Recommendation: Crab Dip to share, followed by ANYTHING
Note: Only Open Mon-Sat, 5:00-9:00 PM
Richard's is a "No Frills, No Joke" kind of place. Looks are definitely deceiving when it comes to this iconic seafood boiling barn, established in 1957.
Fun Fact: LeRyn's Dad used to sell his crawfish to Mr. Calvin Richard to be boiled and served at this very spot.
Located 15 minutes from the Lafayette Regional Airport, Prejean's can't be beat! It's just Louisiana done right.
Appetizer: Boudin Flatbread
Bride's Recommendation: Eggplant Pirogue
Groom's Recommendation: Crawfish Enchiladas
