Protected by the Crested Butte Land Trust, the Woods Walk area in is an open meadow surrounded by a grove of aspen trees. The meadow has a beautiful view of the mountain of Crested Butte. Please feel free to come early, enjoy the views, some music and lawn games. Parking at the entrance to Woods Walk is very limited, so please walk or bike from town if at all possible. If needed, we can arrange a ride for you to the ceremony site. Please keep in mind, average temperatures in September are highs in the mid 60's, lows in the 30-40's. It definitely gets chilly in the evening - so dress accordingly with something warm and comfortable shoes.
DIRECTIONS: From town, head west on Elk Avenue (the main street of Crested Butte). At the very edge of town Elk Avenue will dead end with a dirt road going up to the left. Follow this up a short steep hill and follow signs just a bit further on Kebler Pass Road. The trail entrance will be on your right just before Trappers Crossing. We will have signs marking the way into the meadow where we will be married.
We would love you to consider bringing a bike to the ceremony to help us celebrate with a bike procession from the ceremony site, around town and to the reception, which will be at Bonez Restaurant in town. Those who wish to forgo the bike ride (which will include 1 steep gravel downhill) can meet us at 6:30 at Bonez.
Big Al's Bicycle Heaven will provide a 10% discount on rentals if you let them know you are with the Austin-Rust wedding. http://www.bigalsbicycleheaven.com/crested-butte-b...
