Anand Karaj is the Sikh marriage ceremony, meaning "Act towards a happy life" and takes place at the Gurdwara.

Upon entering the Gurdwara, guests are asked to remove their shoes and cover their heads. There is a storage area for guests to leave their shoes. Women are encouraged to bring scarves to cover their heads and men are asked to wear bandanas or pagris (turban). Extra bandanas will be provided for men if needed.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided before and after the ceremony in the Langar Hall or food hall. All meals will be vegetarian. Alcohol, meat products, and tobacco are not permitted in the gurdwara. During the meals, guests will sit on the floor in the food hall. There are a few chairs and tables reserved for those who have difficulty sitting on the floor and the elderly.

The ceremony takes place in the Diwan hall where the Guru Granth Sahib resides. The Guru Granth Sahib is the focus of worship within the temple.

During the ceremony, guests will sit on the floor. Men will sit on the left and women will sit on the right. There will be chairs reserved for the elderly and disabled. We ask that guests do not clap during the ceremony.

We will also be providing booklets to help walk guests through the Anand Karaj. If you have any questions on the day of the event, please look for one of Parminder’s cousins or brothers for guidance.
