We met in 2018 while working at Medieval Times. The silly costumes and funny accents made for a truly fun job for a while, but what really interested us was each other...
What Tommy Saw: A strong confident woman who always seemed to brighten the lives of people around her. One day she decided to make me one of those people and Ive never looked back.
What Leslie saw: A handsome guy with smart wit and incredible humor. An incredible person with a heart of gold. He made it so easy to fall for him.
It didn't take long for attraction to turn to action and we started dating in 2019. One of our first big dates as a couple was a Halloween party and we dressed as Morticia and Gomez Addams. we had a blast and danced the night away calling each other "cara mia" and "mon cher" all evening long. This was when we really came to realize that nothing could be embarrassing as long as we were together.
Not long after that, the world shut down. All the chaos of covid and sheltering in place left lots of people feeling stressed, anxious, and overwhelmed, but for us it was one long sleepover with our best friend. We spent nearly every moment of every day together. A test, to be sure, but one that made our relationship strong and a chaotic time seem like a fairytale. We were so fortunate to have this time to build our connection deeper.
With only ourselves, and Leslie's cat, Mocha, to tell us what to do, we never stopped enjoying time together and hated being apart for even a moment. Movies, video games, stories about who we were before we met, and all kinds of other things kept us busy and the time together flew by. Before we knew it, a new chapter began.
Once things started to get back to "normal" we moved to a cute little house with just enough space to make our own. We adopted 3 guinea pigs and a dog add to our home and hearts with unconditional love and compassion, and started collecting artwork to put on the walls.
2 years and several fun trips together with that collecting attitude led to a maximalist home with the vibe of an "I spy" book. The walls were coated top to bottom with art and artifacts and each one was a fun memory of a thrift or an art gallery in some distant state that we explored together.
