This wedding will be outside in October. The weather currently shows it should be warm enough, but it is still Idaho. We'll make arrangements as needed, but please dress as warm as you need to.
April 2024:
Believe it or not, Anthony and I met on Facebook Dating. We started talking shortly after my sister birthday. We immediately hit it off in conversation. We shared a lot of common goals in life and both enjoyed the quick wit and caring listening of the other.
May 21 2024
In true Anthony fashion, when he got to the point that we were ready to meet up, he sent over a text teasing me that it was not his "Fault that I was too busy to come say hi." I of course teased back with "Some of us have manners and wait for an invitation before showing up at somebody's house."
We setup a date for me over to his house to meet up and he offered to cook ribs. (Who declines ribs!?) They were fantastic, he said that the recipe was secret... Later I learned that they were prepped for him by a family member, and he was cooking them later. Either way they were delightful. We ended up talking for hours and playing Phase 10.
Over the next few months we kept talking and kept learning more about each other. He quickly became the person that I wanted to share things with. We spent time as friends while we both had a hard summer in our personal lives. Through it all we were both supportive of each other and helped keep the other sane with the situations on our plates.
We technically didn't have an official first date. However, in August Anthony had some cooped up in the house blues. I compelled him to go to the movies with me. We had sent some reels back and forth for the Deadpool & Wolverine movie, and I decided we were going to go see it together in the theater. So on Thursday August 15th 2024 we had what I call our first date.
Later in August I took him to Cleo's Ferry Museum & Nature Trail out in Melba. He needed out of the house and I knew he'd love this place. He has a soft spot for birds, and this place has fairly docile peacocks. You can hand feed them and they'll walk right up to you if you have food.
Anthony is one of my biggest supporters and has a knack for making sure that I acknowledge and celebrate my accomplishments. Never once did I feel judged by him about pieces of me that even I didn't like.
In early October he asked me to start going to the gym with him after work. We setup a schedule and started going. Working out with him then is absolutely when things started picking up in our relationship.
In October I had my 29th birthday and I decided that I wanted sushi, and I volunteered him to go with me. We went to You Tomo downtown Boise. It is one of my favorite spots in the valley and his native Seattle self hadn't explored sushi here yet. During this lovely meal, we talked about the things on our calendar the following week. The following Saturday I had a work event where we were able to take friends/family with us to Top Golf. He showed interest in going, and I happily invited him. That Sunday night, he started being insistent that I come over on Monday night. I was exhausted from the weekend festivities, food poisoning, early morning airport drop off, and dog sitting. I was really hoping that I could convince him to let me come over a different day so I could get some more rest. However he insisted. So on Monday, November 11th, I went over to his house. We chatted for a moment, then he excused himself to his office. He popped out from his office holding this basket. He then looked at me and said, "Would you be opposed to being my girlfriend?" Of course I jumped up and said yes. That Saturday he braved my work event with friends, coworkers, and so much more, as my boyfriend.
We both had previous plans for Thanksgiving including him going to his dad's house in the Seattle area for the holiday. He was sweet and left me a sweet card. I helped him with his assignment- the pies. I was already pretty attached and he left me a card knowing that I'd miss having him close, especially over the holiday.
Later I found these keychains that formed a heart. One was Wolverine and the other Deadpool. We've had 1/2 of them since.
In December he agreed to go to the Boise Botanical Gardens with my work team to meet my remote agents, the ones he couldn't meet at the Top Golf event). He and I enjoyed a leisurely walk and took my favorite of our first pictures together.
He also was a great sport and happily tolerated all of the winter festivities, even all of the events so close together including the annual Cox Family Ugly Sweater Party. Somehow we managed to not take a single picture.... Whoops... We spent a cozy Christmas together and enjoyed expressing our care for each other with very well thought out gifts.
In January there were some random events that led to adopting Bailey, our border collie puppy. She is one of the cutest things I've ever seen. She is crazy intelligent and has kept us on her toes since.
We laughed and celebrated Valentine's day together. We had homemade heart shaped pizza and cheese bread. There may or may not have been a frosting fight from the cookie he got me.
At the end of February we celebrated his 30th birthday with his best friend at the K1 Speed racing place. Naturally I let the boys race it out while I took some pictures and enjoyed their viewing lounge. We then went to Longhorn Steakhouse and he got spoiled with a his first porterhouse steak.
We've had many other adventures here and there between, but this is our story.
We got engaged on August 24th 2025. He was the sweetest and plotted with my friends to get me to Katherine Albertson's park to what I believed was a doggy play date for Bailey and Kylie's pup Rocky. I had mentioned to him a bit ago that I'd like to get engaged on a bridge because I have 2 family couples who got engaged on bridges and they all have beautiful marriages. If you've ever been to Katherine Albertson's party, you know there is no shortage of bridges. He was able to sneak up on me and surprise me and asked me to marry him. Of course I said yes, and were able to take some pictures while we were out there.
We are extremely greatful for you coming to celebrate with us. We also wanted to say thank you in advance for any presents or presence that we get to have with you.
We are both 30 and have most of the house things we need. We'd appreciate any gift you're considering making. We have some options listed on an Amazon registry, but would also accept contributions to a honeymoon fund. There is a link to both the registry and to Leslie's Venmo if that's how you choose to gift.
Leslie's Venmo is: @Leslie-Spencer33
