Transportation and Accomodation Ideas

Getting to the Venue:

Picture of Getting to the Venue:

Our wedding venue is located right in the heart of Como at Villa Parravicini Revel, a very popular town to visit on the lake with many options for accommodations and great restaurants.

Step 1: Fly into Milan

When traveling to Lake Como you will need to first fly into Milan. There are 3 airports to chose from, all of which are within 30 miles of Milan city center: Malpensa (MXP), Linate (LIN) and Bergamo Orio al Serio (BGY).

Step 2: Take a train from Milan to Lake Como

From Milan you can catch a quick, and inexpensive train to Lake Como (directly). You can also catch a train from the airport, but it will require you to switch in Saronno with your final destination being Como San Giovanni

We recommend using Trainline to book your train tickets. Don't forget to also download the Trainline App!

Step 3: Taxi

Taxi is also an option from the airport. You can reserve a taxi ahead of time and the cost is 100 euro for 3 people.

Getting around Lake Como

GETTING AROUND LAKE COMO

1. Boat: There are several public ferries that are constantly traveling around the entire lake throughout the day. Details and Ferry Schedule

2. Train: If you want to travel along the eastern side (Lecco, Varenna, Colico, etc.) of the Lake, train service is probably the best option. Remember that trains do not operate on the western branch. Details and Train Schedule

3. Bus: If you are planning to visit a town on the western side of Lake Como (Como, Bellagio, Menaggio and Tremezzina among others) buses are a great way to move from town to town. Details and Bus Schedule

4. Taxi: The most expensive and least available mode of travel, especially after dark. If you'd like to call a taxi, it is going to be easiest and most effective if you solicit the assistance of your hotel concierge in doing so.

Where to Stay

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The best options for lodging are going to be Hotels, VRBO and AirBnbs. Accommodations tend to book up rather quickly, so we would advise booking as soon as you possibly can.

NOTE: There will likely be limited taxicabs or Ubers/Lyfts available, and the Public Ferry stops running before the wedding ends around 8pm.

Nearby Hotels:

Niccolo and Leslie have a hold on a few hotels that are close to the venue. If you are interested, please contact them immediately and say you are with the Vercellino Wedding. It may seem like there are not rooms available looking online, but that is because they are frozen/hidden for the Vercellino party.

Posta Design Hotel -$$

Albergo Firenze - $

Hilton Lake Como - $$$ (no hold here, but convenient location)

These rooms are available until Mid-March. Just an option for our guests

(Our recommendation is to stay within the village of Como for the night of the wedding taxis are limited at night.) If you need assistance booking accommodations, please reach out to Leslie (lunroe@gmail.com)
