Chris and Levi met in Boston shortly after Levi moved to Boston in March 2021. As the last of the COVID-19 restrictions were lifted, Chris and Levi started spending more time together by going on hikes, watching their favorite movies, and introducing Levi to Boston. Chris and Levi greatly enjoyed spending time with friends in Boston, exploring new restaurants, and traveling around New England. In April 2022, Levi decided to attend law school at Arizona State University in Phoenix, Arizona, and Chris and Levi traded snowy New England winters for the heat and sun of the Sonoran Desert.

While in Arizona, Chris and Levi added a member to the family when they rescued their sassy and shy Dachshund-Lab mix, Duke, from a local shelter. The trio has since enjoyed hiking across the Southwest, napping in the sun, and exploring the Phoenix metro.

In March 2024, almost three years to the day when Chris and Levi first met, Chris proposed to Levi at Griffith Observatory overlooking Los Angeles, California, while the two were going on a road trip up the California coast.
