As many people know, we started our story in the tenth grade. Just teenagers experiencing what dating even was. From sports, school work, different schedules, and downright being young and not knowing exactly what life had in store for us, we decided to each walk down our own paths. Levi's last words were "Katie I know you're the right girl for me, it's just the wrong time." It led us into a spot where we were no longer friends, but strangers passing by in the halls of Marshall School.

Three years later, we had each experienced a lot more to life. Katie experienced freshman year of college and Levi was in Austin, MN enjoying his time in Junior hockey. We had finally (and I mean finally, THREE years later) became friends again on Snapchat. Innocently creating slight small talk with each other but nothing serious because of the way our first time panned out. Sitting in the Snapchat friend stage for a good amount of time, each of us got our mutual friend involved and sneakily asked him to find out more information on each other. Lucky for us, we were both way too open and honest with our mutual friend and quickly found out we liked each other again.

By God's call, we ended up on a trip to Washington DC, where Pete was taking the two of us and friends to the Congressional Baseball Game. Still incredibly awkward around each other, we didn't talk in person much, unless it was around the whole group of friends. Until the way to Duluth from the Minneapolis airport. Then it all started. Once getting home from that trip, we began to hang out together with mutual friends. Eventually we started to hang out just ourselves and started to remember how much fun we had together. From there we started dating on July 29th, 2019 just a few weeks before Levi left for junior hockey in Canada and Katie left for college at St. Cloud. Fast forward to today, we have been doing long distance for 4 years and it hasn't been easy, but it has made us stronger and more appreciative of the time we have together.

June 28, 2023:

Levi had just gotten home from Michigan Tech for the summer and had a few things planned. On this rainy day, the Stauber family had "family pictures" on Black Beach in Silver Bay. It rained the whole drive up there. Katie was dressed cute as well because the photographer was going to take pictures of Levi and Katie together. Katie was not happy about doing this in the rain. When we got to the beach, Katie kept telling Levi she was just going to stay in the car. After a lot of convincing, Katie decided she would get out of the car and walk the beach with everyone. The Stauber family, Keith, Karen, and Katie all walked down a trail to the beach. The "photographer" was running late, so we decided to take some pictures ourselves. (Turns out there was no photographer at all) Levi had Katie's hand and they walked over in front of the slate black rock on Black Beach and got ready to take pictures together. Everyone had their cameras out and that's when Levi got down on one knee and asked for Katie's hand in marriage. She said "yes" 3 times!!
