Q + A

What if I'm traveling from abroad?

Amazing! This is a great time of year in Germany (and Europe in general). September is beautiful but also very busy. We suggest to book early! United has direct flights from the USA to Berlin BER; otherwise you will likely connect in Frankfurt or Munich. If you want to explore other parts of the country or the continent while you're here, let us know and we're happy to offer suggestions!

Where should I stay in Berlin?

We recommend hotels around Friedrichstr. or Hackescher Markt - these are both major train stations in Mitte, one of the districts in Berlin. If you have specific questions, please reach out to Lexi. Keep in mind that the Berlin Marathon will take place September 29th so the week following our wedding, prices will dramatically increase! We recommend booking early.

Are there options to stay overnight after the wedding?

Luckenwalde is located 20 minutes by car from the wedding venue. If you want to stay the night in Luckenwalde, we have reserved rooms at Hotel Vierseithof Luckenwalde. Please indicated YES in your RSVP. We will send you a separate link to finalize your booking. Early check-ins will be possible so you can check in, get ready, prior to the wedding.

Can I drive to the venue?

Yes! There is limited parking on site so please let us know if you plan to drive.

How will we get to the venue from Luckenwalde?

We will offer a shuttle from the Hotel Vierseithof Luckenwalde to the wedding (approximately 13:00) as the ceremony starts at 14:00. The shuttle will go back to the hotel after the wedding ends (between 00:00 and 01:00). We will have a smaller bus available if you are staying in Luckenwalde and wish to return earlier.

What if I want to return to Berlin after the wedding?

If you want to return to Berlin after the wedding and not stay over in Luckenwalde, we recommend to come by car directly to the venue. Alternatively, the last train from Luckenwalde Station is 23:44. We will have a taxi available to take guests to the station for the last train. If you wish to arrange your own taxi for pick-up at the venue, please do.

How do I reach Luckenwalde from Berlin?

By car, it's about 45 minutes south of Berlin. By train, you can take a regional train (RE 3) from Berlin Südkreuz train station. There is usually a train every 30 minutes and takes about 35 minutes from Berlin Südkreuz to Luckenwalde. Please note if you wish to drive to the hotel and park, it is preferred that then you take the shuttle to the venue due to limited parking at the venue. Parking at the hotel in Luckenwalde can be arranged.

What should I wear?

Attire is semi formal. We recommend blazers (tie optional) and dress pants. Long dresses may be preferred for the evening temperatures. For shoes, wedges, block heels or flats will be an better optional for walking around. September can be unpredictable so we do recommend a jacket or sweater.

Can I bring a guest?

We have sent all invites with couples in mind. If your partner was not included, please let us know. Unfortunately we cannot accept additional guests.

Are children welcome?

To give all of our guests the opportunity to celebrate without having to worry about little eyes and ears, we politely ask that you leave children over the age of 1 with a grandparent or a babysitter. If you have trouble finding a solution, please contact us directly and we'll work something out. Please be mindful that Penny is a very active part of a ceremony and will also have other dogs present.

Do you have a gift registry?

Your presence is the greatest gift, but if you wish to contribute in another way, a monetary (cash) gift would be sincerely appreciated to help us start our next chapter together.

What's the weather like?

September in Berlin is usually quite nice! Average temperature is around 19 C / 66 F but will dip down in the evenings. We highly recommend packing layers and a jacket for the evening.
