Our Wedding

You could say our story started before we even knew what a story was. We met in 7th grade—yep, middle school sweethearts. Back then, “dating” meant nervously holding hands at school events (without making eye contact), texting non-stop, and saying “I love you” way too fast… probably before we ever actually spoke in person. Classic.High school took us in different directions—Austin went to STM, and Lexi went to Stevens—but we stayed friends. Every time we ran into each other, it felt like no time had passed. There was always a spark—one of those unspoken connections that just didn’t fade. Senior year rolled around, and fate (and maybe a little planning) had us as each other’s prom dates—for both of our schools. Somehow, we went from middle school sweethearts to high school sweethearts without skipping a beat. Then came the “if it’s meant to be, it’ll be” phase. We went our separate ways after college—Lexi stayed in Rapid City after graduation, and Austin moved to Colorado. We didn’t talk or see each other for three whole years, which felt like a lifetime. One day, Lexi started liking a few of Austin’s Instagram photos (subtle, right?), and he returned the favor. Suddenly, that old spark was back—and it felt just as exciting as it did in middle school, only this time we were adults with real jobs and slightly better texting etiquette. Eventually, Lexi picked up the phone and called Austin. That one call led to a hike in the Black Hills—our first official “grown-up” date. Despite knowing each other forever, we were both nervous and giddy. But once we reconnected, we were inseparable (literally didn't go a day without seeing each other)! Looking back, it’s clear that God always had a plan for us—every step apart was leading us right back to each other at exactly the right time. A little over a year later, Austin proposed—on that same hiking trail, on October 20, 2024. Now, we’re getting married on October 4, 2025! Since then, we’ve bought a home, taken some amazing trips (including two dreamy weeks in Italy) and grown even closer to each other’s families. We truly feel like we’ve come full circle—from shy middle school kids texting “ILY” to life partners, ready to start our forever. We can’t wait to celebrate with you all and kick off the next chapter of our story—marriage!
