Mike & Lex met in high school and quickly became close friends. Post high school, Mike left for the the navy and Lexi went to attend college at UW Oshkosh to pursue education. They wrote each other letters and Mike visited Lex at college to stay in touch throughout the next couple years. One summer, Mike was home on leave from the Navy and asked Lexi to hangout nearly every day he was home, including meeting her entire family on their second date. The two knew there was a spark immediately once they first kissed before Mike left to go back to California. Over the next few months, Mike flew home every other weekend to visit Lexi at college until the two could not deny their connection any longer. In November of 2019 Mike asked Lex to be his girlfriend and continued to visit her in Wisconsin many times over the next few years while the couple dated long distance. Mike finally returned home to Wisconsin after his 5 years of active duty service and two deployments in the navy. The two road tripped from California back home to Wisconsin together, stopping many places and learning many things about each other in between. They continued to date and make memories in Wisconsin, then Mike proposed on November 5th of 2022. He proposed to Lex on a bridge in Milwaukee and then whisked her to a surprise engagement party with all their friends and family. They couldn't be more excited for their big day. This celebration has been a long time coming.
