Freeway Tavern - best pork chop sandwich & fried chicken. Cash only.

MacKenzie River - classic restaurant, great bar, where Pat & Lexi met!

Saffron - amazing Mediterranean food and beautiful restaurant and wine bar

Taco Bell Cantina - a must

Mr. Hot Dogs - most eclectic restaurant in Butte not to be underestimated! Great all beef hot dogs, but the lasagna, meatball sandwich, and pierogies are our favorite! Cash only.

Joe's Pasty Shop - a must when in Butte!

Uptown Cafe - great lunches and fancy dinners. their desserts are fabulous.

Saturday Donuts - open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Gluten free selection and lots more than donuts!

Montana Club - better in Missoula, but always solid and can't beat the Hoagieville Cheese Fries (Pat's favorite past job)

Lydia's Supper Club - traditional supper club open since 1946

Gyro's Wagon - one of our favs that started in Dillon!

You can access the trail from MT Highway 2. If you are driving from Butte, access to the park will be on your right (or south side of the highway) about 9 miles out of town. 25 miles of non-motorized trails on the historic Milwaukee Railroad from the forest boundary south to Pipestone Pass and the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail, passing through two tunnels and over a 600-foot steel trestle along the way.

One of many access points to the The Copperway Trails and Butte Heritage Park Trails- a network of non-motorized trails linking a variety of cultural sites. Great views and one of Lexi's favorite parts of Butte! There is a Granite Mountain Memorial overlook at the top.

The Berkeley Pit is an abandoned open-pit copper mine in Butte, Montana, and is one of the largest and most famous examples of a contaminated mine site in the United States. The pit, which is over 1,780 feet deep and approximately one mile wide, has filled with highly acidic water (pH as low as 2.5) since the mine was closed in 1982. This water contains dangerous concentrations of heavy metals and toxic chemicals, including arsenic, cadmium, and copper.

Party Palace - avoid unless people watching karaoke

Cavalier Lounge - mid-century lounge in the historic Finlen Hotel

Helsinki Bar - Finntown bar where St. Urho's Day kicks off (the day before St. Paddy's, in true Butte style). hopefully they're open. cash only.

Silver Dollar - eccentric place. We once got to watch Pat's cousin's band play here!

McQueen Athletic Club - not a gym and finding the entrance is a special experience.. Pat & Lexi once crashed a grad party trying to get inside.

Scoop Parlor - great for a group of pool players

Taco Bell Cantina - boozy baja blast freeze anyone??

Pisser's Palace - even more fun than the name. cool spot in Walkerville.
