Justus and Lia met in the most romantic way possible nowadays- a deliberate hinge date. They both swiped on each other and just a few days later they met up at Harp and Crown for a happy hour. Happy hour turned into 5 hours of sitting at the bar and getting to know each other. Having had only one drink each and leftover food sitting between them it was clear the only thing keeping them there was a palpable spark.

As the weeks went on Justus and Lia bonded over their love for dogs, food, and travel. They went on dates, danced, ate, and quickly planned their first trip to Arizona only a couple of months after meeting each other. To this day Lia says Arizona was one of the best trips she has ever taken because it was one of the first times she had such clarity on someone fitting so seamlessly into her life. Once they knew how well they traveled together all bets were off! They have been all over the US and even made it to Vietnam a couple of years ago. Their partnership has unlocked a new sense of adventure in both of them and their bucket list is a mile long, so it was clear they were going to need a lot more time together.

For their next adventure, Justus and Lia traveled to Portugal to do what they do on any trip: eat, drink, and learn about a new place. One of their excursions was a wine tasting in Porto where they climbed steep cobblestone streets and tried just about every type of wine Portugal had to offer. When they were finished they descended back to town and sat on the edge of the Douro River. Looking out on the river and seeing the beautiful town in front of them, Lia went on and on to Justus about what an incredible day they had had and how grateful she was for their life together. She then suggested they get someone to take their picture. "Bingo," Justus thought. He agreed and approached a Portuguese woman to take their picture. And just when Lia thought that day couldn't get any better, as soon as Justus got into the frame, he pulled a tiny ring box out of his pocket and got down on one knee. Best. Day. Ever.

Justus and Lia are enjoying their engagement season by celebrating with friends and family and dreaming of their wedding day. They have coined the idea of "happy hour wedding planning" and have gotten to explore a bunch of hidden gems in Philadelphia while planning the details of their big day. They are so grateful for the support of their loved ones in this next chapter of their life and they cannot wait to celebrate with you!
