Our Wedding

Lia and Steven’s love story is a testament to serendipity, determination, and a touch of humor. They met in 2020 at the University of Central Florida, during the tumultuous times of the COVID-19 pandemic, both pursuing their master’s degrees. Despite the challenges of in-class social distance learning, they found themselves in the same socially distanced classroom, often engaging in spirited discussions and exchanging glances from behind their masks and across the room. A year into their acquaintance, an evening outing with classmates proved to be a turning point. Buoyed by a bit of liquid courage, Steven finally gathered the nerve to tell Lia how he felt. “I think you’re beautiful,” he blurted out, his cheeks flushed. As the night wound down, he asked for a ride back to his car. Lia, amused and a bit skeptical, agreed, thinking Steven would probably not remember any of this the next day. To her surprise, Steven remembered everything. Emboldened by his newfound confidence, he tried to ask Lia to a Tampa Bay Lightning game. However, his nerves got the best of him, and his invitation came out muddled. Lia, confused but not deterred, decided to take her brother to the game instead. But Steven wasn’t ready to give up. On the night of the game, he charmed the ushers into letting him down to where Lia was sitting. Lia’s jaw dropped when she saw him approaching. She couldn’t believe he had managed to find her in the crowded arena. From that moment on, Lia and Steven were inseparable. They laughed about the game mix-up and shared countless more adventures together. Their bond grew stronger with each passing day, rooted in their shared experiences and mutual respect. Now, as they plan their wedding in the tropical paradise of Key West, their story serves as a beautiful reminder of how love can blossom in the most unexpected of circumstances. Lia and Steven’s journey from classmates to lifelong partners is one they will cherish forever, a story of perseverance, love, and a little bit of magic.
