Restaurants

There are many restaurants that the yinzers cherish, here are a few suggestions accessible from downtown:

1. Primanti Bros. - The penultimate Pittsburgh icon. A must visit if you are visiting

2. Sienna Mercato - a three story establishment including a fun and casual meatball theme on the first floor and rooftop bar with beautiful views. Also where we had our first date :)

3. Pizzaiolo Primo - great italian food and wine, our second date :)

4. Meat and Potatoes - a great brunch location, but reservations are encouraged because this is a hot spot

5. The Commoner - a great cocktail bar and restaurant on the bottom floor of Hotel Monaco

6. The Warren - a great bar close to the hotels but also with food!

7. Nicky's Thai - great Thai food and a frequented spot when Frank lived downtown

Things to keep you busy

1. Take a stroll to the point and check out the iconic Pittsburgh view at the confluence of the three rivers (Point State Park)

2. Meander through the Strip District (adjacent to downtown). Many restaurants and shops we love

3. Check out a Pirates game! The tickets are v inexpensive and the views are great from the stadium. Will likely be fireworks on the river after the game!!

4. The Monongahela or the Duquesne incline - incline trollies with great views of the city

5. Take a stroll or have a picnic at Frick or Schenley park

6. Enjoy some (additional) time in one of Pittsburghs amazing museums. The rest of the Carnegie Museum of Fine Art and Natural History (where our reception will be held) is very stunning and great for those of all ages. There is also the Warhol museum and The Mattress Factory. For the younger crowd, there is lots of learning and fun at the Carnegie Science Center or Children's Museum

7. Phipps conservatory - a beautiful display of botanicals in Oakland not far from Frick/Schenley park and from where we are getting married

8. Finally, you can try to contain your excitement at the Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium. One of the better zoos in the country and is the home of a one-winged penguin named Floppy who is basically our favorite celebrity now
