The story of Liane and Michael begins in Stockton, California. They both met at the church of Bethany Christian Center as members of their youth group. For about a month, Liane and Michael dated from time to time, which consisted of reading books at Barns & Nobles, and taking sunset walks across different parks in the city. On June 23 2008, Michael finally gathered enough courage to ask Liane to officially be his girlfriend while they were on a lunch date at Macaroni Grill. Liane responded with a "yes" and 8 years later, they are now getting married

Before the proposal, Liane and Michael had been dating for 7 years. They both knew that they would eventually end up getting married, but it came down to Michael deciding when to finally pop the question. In 2015, Liane had graduated from the University of the Pacific and both seemed to be on track for the next chapter of their lives. Throughout the month of May, Michael constantly prayed and contemplated on when he would finally ask Liane to marry him. On Memorial Day weekend of 2015, Michael celebrated his 26th birthday and was blessed with a gift from his uncle Nestor and auntie Tanya to join his uncle and aunt and the rest of his family with two tickets to Disneyland. Liane and Michael had become very fond of Disneyland through the years they had been together, and the idea of proposing to Liane clicked in Michael's head. Michael thought: "What a better way to propose to Liane than at the most magical place on earth and being surrounded with the people we love the most." So on June 17 2015, Michael got down on one knee in front of the Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland and asked Liane to marry him. After shedding tears of shock, joy, and excitement, Liane responded by saying "yea". (And no that last part of saying "yea" and not "yes" is not a typo)
