Jaryd recalls going to a friend's pool party on his motorcycle and seeing Libby for the first time. "I rolled up and saw you for the first time and thought that you were extremely cute". He began talking to his friends and doing his research, making sure that she was single of course!
Libby recalls the pool party as well and seeing Jaryd for the first time. He caught her attention, "who's the hot guy on the bike?". He was so handsome, and well styled. She kept looking his way, hoping that they would get to interact at some point.
The group had a few motorcyclists there that night. Libby had never been on a motorcycle before, and kindly (before the party started) a friend offered to take her along on a ride with the group. Libby got ready to ride, wearing a buddy's hoodie and jeans. The clothes rolled many times over attempt some resemblance of fitting. And the group was off!
Well, the ride took a turn, when the friend Libby was riding with broke into a spontaneous, "accidental" wheelie. If you know Libby, you know she wasn't having any of that. The group stopped at a gas station soon after. Libby hopped off the bike (contemplating how she was getting back without getting back on that motorcycle). Jaryd approached her and graciously asked if she would be interested in riding back with him. After double checking about Jaryd's wheelie policies, Libby agreed. They returned to the party, and soon after sadly Jaryd had to call it a night. They went their separate ways.
Jaryd messaged Libby the next day, asking for her number. Libby definitely gave him a number... just the wrong one! But per Jaryd "we eventually sorted that all out". He got Libby's number and planned a date.
For their first date they went on a motorcycle ride to a state park. They sat at a picnic table for hours talking and spending time getting to know one another. They rode back to town after, and found it difficult to part ways, so they continued their date with chips, queso, and beer at what would become their favorite bar and restaurant for years to come.
Jaryd has been riding motorcycles for 8 years. Adventuring on the motorcycle is one of the couple's favorite hobbies. They attend many events together such as the annual Blessing of the Bikes, Bikes on the Bricks, etc. Over the years, the couple has explored many parts of Michigan via bike - Traverse City, Holland, etc. You can count on seeing them on the bike every opportunity they get!
Fun Fact: The couple's signature drink at the wedding will be named "Medusa" after their Harley.
Together we sweat! Jaryd and Libby are regulars at the gym. They vary between working out independently and together. Jaryd has a unique perspective with his personal training background. Fitness and moving their bodies are an important part of their regular routine.
Traverse City holds a special place in Libby's heart. She has enjoyed sharing that love with Jaryd. Watching the love for the city grow for him as well. Libby grew up spending summers, holidays, and free time visiting family in Traverse City. Libby's grandparents, Jim and Lydia Pryor had a home on Boardman River, that served as the heart of their family. So many beautiful memories revolve around Traverse City for Libby. It is heartwarming for the bride to marry the man of her dreams in Traverse City. The memory of her grandparents feels honored by tying the knot in Traverse City.
Jaryd's family has vacationed in Hilton Head since he was little. The family continues the tradition of traveling to the island annually, with many new family members and friends joining over the years, including Libby! Jaryd's parents Tom and Lori have a strong emphasis on quality time and making memories as a family. This it is something that the bride and groom truly appreciate. You can catch the couple at Coco's on the Beach sharing a bucket of Georgia Peach while on vacay!
Fun Fact: The last family trip to Hilton Head Island is when Jaryd proposed!
Jaryd and Libby have made their own tradition of heading south early for family Hilton Head vacation. They are making an effort to explore many cities around Hilton Head. In September 2023 Jaryd and Libby visited Savannah, GA. They stayed at a beautiful Airbnb in Forsyth Park, with a cute porch swing looking over a garden. Jaryd proposed their first night there - in the rain, under the stars and light of the famous water fountain in Forsyth Park. This will forever be a special spot for the couple.
