Considered to house one of the best art collections in the United States, the museum showcases everything from mummies to modern art and African masks to Monets in its outstanding collection of over 65,000 works. The DIA can be a fun attraction for kids, as well as a date for couples. There are also over 50 restaurants within three miles of the museum for lunch / dinner afterward.

The Eastern Market is an outdoor farmers market that features many vendors from all over Michigan. The market is open on Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m..

Rich with history and natural beauty, Belle Isle Park is a Detroit gem and a Michigan state park. The 987-acre island park features the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory, the Belle Isle Aquarium, Dossin Great Lakes Museum, giant slide, athletic fields, picnic areas, Belle Isle Nature Zoo, the James Scott Memorial Fountain and more attractions popular with all ages and interests. The park includes three lakes, 150 acres of wooded area and spectacular views of the Detroit and Windsor skyline. Rentals available for: Watercraft, Bike, Snow Sports. Food and ice sales available. Belle Isle Park

Campus Martius Park is a small park in the center of downtown Detroit. In summer months, the park takes on a beach theme with plenty of objects for kids to play on. The location makes it convenient for kids to play outside between stops of your time experiencing downtown Detroit. Being at the heart of downtown, there are plenty of restaurants you can easily walk to from the park.

Greektown Casino-Hotel is a unique spot in downtown Detroit. Not only does it have everything you'd expect from a large casino, it also includes many authentic Greek restaurants around the casino as part of the Greektown District.

Michigan Science Center is a cool spot with fun, interactive displays for kids. The staff there are very engaging with showing kids science lessons through the experiments set up. Its one of the few field trips I remember going to as a kid, and even had fun there even without a passion for science.

Greenfield Village

Located in Michigan, Frankenmuth is well known for its Bavarian-style architecture. The city is home to some of the greatest shopping centers and a hub for festivals and events. Not to mention the incredible parks and interactive Museums. Top attractions include Michigan Heroes Museum, St. Julian Winery &amp; Distillery Tasting, and St Lorenz Lutheran Church among others.
