After swiping right on Bumble and a few texts, Libby & Alex's first date happened at Tap House. Pizzas were ate, Ellicottville Blueberry beer was drank. As things were clearly going well, Alex asked Libby to come back to his house to play ping pong. Though slightly skeptical of Alex's intentions, Libby said yes. They ended up playing ping pong for hours, ending the evening with a first kiss.
A few weeks after their first date, Alex hosted a New Years Eve party in Erie. Libby, while home on winter break from PT school, drove up to Erie through a winter storm. A fun filled night ended in the two officially dating!
A quick road trip to Palm Coast, FL just before Libby graduated! Staying at Alex's mom's house and enjoying the local parks and BBQ food (thanks Captain's BBQ)
The next few months were spent getting to know each other more. Visiting each other's home towns, going out with friends, exploring Erie, and going to a Penn State Game!
We quickly knew the villas were a special place to us! Even in the dead of winter, the views of the lake, the wine, and the quaint town of Watkins Glen caught our hearts.
Libby and Alex returned for their one year anniversary, enjoying even more wine, views, and even some all you can eat barbecue for a New Years Eve celebration.
The next three years were spent enjoying life together! Libby moved in with Alex in Erie. Covid happened. Libby graduated from PT school and started work. Alex's business grew. There were many fun filled trips and weddings. Golf, pickleball, cooking, and enjoying Erie filled daily life.
With a plan in mind, Alex convinced the Sobnosky family vacation to be in the finger lakes. Libby and Alex went early for a few days and stayed at the Vineyard Villas once again. After a day of wineries and exploring, they headed to the top deck to recreate the first picture taken with the drone (in typical Alex fashion). It was there Alex got down on one knee and popped the question, and a big YES was responded. The rest of vacation was spent celebrating!
