Our Story

From Long Distance To Forever

We met in October 2024, shortly after we both started new jobs as insurance agents with AAA. By coincidence, we were placed in the same training class. Since we both work remotely, our very first introduction happened over Zoom, Braxton in Utah and me in Arizona, 673 miles apart, though at the time we had no idea how much that distance would soon mean to us.

Just a few days into training, I messaged Braxton to congratulate him on passing his insurance exam. What started as a simple message quickly turned into a full conversation, and before long we realized how much we had in common. That first conversation lasted all night, and from there it became hours long phone calls, endless FaceTimes, constant messages, and more inside jokes than we could keep track of. Somewhere in all those late night conversations, something very special began to grow between us.

Because of the distance, our relationship started in an unconventional way, but in many ways it was a gift. It gave us the chance to truly know each other deeply before ever meeting in person. Braxton quickly became such an important part of my life that we both knew we had to meet as soon as we could.

In March 2025, Braxton flew out to see me. On the drive to the airport, I even recorded a video saying I just knew I was about to meet my future husband. The moment we finally saw each other in person, everything felt right. Between the nervous laughter and a sweet first kiss, it felt like we had known each other forever. In that moment, Braxton already felt like home.

Because we both work remotely, we were lucky to spend longer stretches of time together after that first visit. It did not take long for both of us to realize that what we had found was something truly special. Just a month and a half after meeting in person, Braxton asked me to marry him, and saying yes was the easiest decision of my life.

One of the most meaningful parts of our journey has been the beautiful bond we have built with each other’s sons, Braxton’s son Bennett and my son Wyatt. Being a single parent comes with a path that can include both heartache and strength, but our boys have brought so much love and healing into our lives.

In July 2025, we were finally able to close the distance and begin our life together in the same place. Since then, it has been the greatest joy to watch our boys become brothers and to build a life together as a family of four.

Looking back, we can clearly see how God was guiding our story from the very beginning. What started as a simple message between two coworkers turned into something far greater than we ever imagined. We are so grateful for the love we have found and so excited to celebrate the joining of our family as we begin this next chapter together with all of our family and friends.
