Our Wedding

Arrival

Our ceremony will start promptly at 5:30pm! We suggest arriving no earlier than 5pm to see the nesting Great Horned Owl, Athena, and make your way into the courtyard. The shuttle will depart the Hyatt by 4:55pm. Please don't be late! Address: 211 E 3rd St, Austin, TX 78701 If you'd like to bring a pair of dancing shoes or a light jacket, you're welcome to leave a bag in the Great Hall throughout the evening.

Cocktail Hour

Drinks and snacks will be served in the Theme Garden. We also encourage you to explore all that the Wildflower Center has to offer! Please don't wander off into the fields, but you are welcome to peruse the Central Complex and Gardens. Here's a map: https://www.wildflower.org/visit/gardens

Departures

The shuttle will first depart Wildflower Center around 9:30pm, with the second and last trip leaving at 11pm.

Day-Of Logistics

The year was 2019. Eric had just moved back to Boston for his first job after graduating from college. One of Eric’s closest friends from high school, Ashton, and his girlfriend, Sera, invited him to hang out and meet some of their college friends. Upon arriving at the bar, it turned out that by “some college friends”, they actually meant “Lienne, Sera’s friend from the rowing team”. Eric did not take the hint. Meanwhile, Sera kept singing Eric’s praises, not so subtly suggesting to Lienne that she&nbsp;should give Eric a chance. Lienne thought he sounded like a great friend. Fast-forward to 2020, with the Covid 19 pandemic raging. Eric and Lienne find themselves part of a weekly virtual board game group and take to texting each other on the side. As the weather warmed, the group transitioned to back-yard barbecues, giving Lienne and Eric an opportunity to spend more time together in person. After a few months of this, Lienne finally approached Eric with what she assumed was a rhetorical question. “You know that Sera has been trying to set us up for years… right?” Eric did not, in fact, have a single clue.But he had been working up the courage to ask her out! Eric and Lienne went on their first date in June 2021, sharing a basket of french fries and a flight of dipping sauces at Bow Market in Somerville. As they closed in on a year of dating, they decided to take a trip to Scotland together, where they realized they made a darn good team after navigating hours of single-lane roads without hitting a single sheep and surviving a treacherous hike in the driving rain and wind. In the subsequent years, they got to know each others’ families on annual pilgrimages&nbsp;to Maine, New York, and Austin. Spring of 2023 marked the start of their co-habitation. Much to Eric’s relief, he found Lienne to be a clean roommate! They’ve loved building a life together full of good food, board games, and house plants, navigating new jobs and their first house. Throughout, they made time to go on long bike rides together… and it was on one such ride in October 2024 that Eric proposed. Lienne said, “Finally!”

Andrew and Lienne became close friends during their time at Tufts. Andrew and Eric were neighbors after college, and bonded over good food and drink. He's been a great friend to us both and we can't wait for him to be such a big part of the day!

The first thing Lienne ever said to Sera was "wow, you have the arms of a goddess" (it was 6am on the first day of rowing practice). And by some miracle, that was the beginning of an incredibly special friendship full of pushing limits and good margs.

Ashton and Eric met in grade school, relating over the riveting activities of studying and eating. They've been fast friends ever since, now cycling and playing music together.

Lienne met Emma on the first day of college and quickly connected over being active and a love of reading. They've shared many long hours talking about anything and everything -- Emma asks the best questions.

Gillian is Eric's sister and all around fun & creative human. Lienne appreciates her fashion advice!

Lienne and Roslyn met in the 1st Grade and spent much of their childhoods playing in the mud, at band practice, or riding horses. They're both still happiest when outside!

Nathan is Eric's brother. He, Eric, and Lienne all appreciate a great cocktail, which Eric happens to be fantastic at making.

Alexa and Lienne met through Eric's college friends and hit it off right away, bonding over NOT being engineers. They frequently find themselves craving sushi and love really, really bad jokes.

We will have a shuttle pick up and drop off from the hotel block. Should you choose to stay elsewhere, you are still welcome meet at the Hyatt to take advantage of the shuttle. The shuttle will depart just before 5pm CT, and will make two return trips that night.

- breakfast tacos! get them anywhere, the less formal the better (see: gas station, trailer, food truck...)- BBQ from Terry Black's. Or Franklin's. Or Black's. Or Micklethwait, Stiles Switch, or Interstellar. Or, do a comparison of as many places as you can find!- have a quick taco snack from Torchy's Tacos or a full Tex-Mex meal from Chuy's- enjoy Amy's Ice Cream. Bonus points if you get a coffee milkshake with hot fudge- stop by Lolo for a glass of natural wine or Holiday for a cocktail- sip on coffee at The Meteor while appreciating their wine and bike collection

Our favorite things to do:

- meander the grounds at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. Oh wait!- visit the Pennybacker Bridge, close to where Lienne grew up, and take a picture with the wildflowers- walk or run around Town Lake (also called Lady Bird Lake, or Lake Austin)- check out the Bullock Texas State History Museum- if it's warm enough, take a dip at Barton Springs- watch the largest colony of urban bats take flight at sunset on the Congress Avenue Bridge

Want to get out of the city? Visit Enchanted Rock and spend a few hours scrambling around this neat granite park. Go stop by Fredericksburg for lunch or a snack and some shopping while you're out west!
