2020 may go in the history books as the “Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Year,” but for Mike and Lila, it’s also the year they were lucky enough to meet. The two matched online (how else do you meet someone in a pandemic?) and quickly hit it off, even though their first few dates were done over zoom. They bonded over their mutual love of bad baseball teams, corny jokes, and the great outdoors. They shared their favorite Christmas movies with each other and the rest is history. Between A Muppet Christmas Carol and Mixed Nuts, Lila and Mike explored Pinnacles, Bryce Canyon, Zion, Point Reyes, Mount Sutro, and every park in between, bonding on road trips and long flights back east. They shared their favorites with each other by introducing Mike to Murdoch and Lila to Community. In June of 2022, they moved in together to a beautiful home in San Jose. The dynamic duo continued to explore the city and all the gorgeous, exciting, and hilarious sights. (Nothing is funnier than listening to 200 kids chant “Beer!” at a SJ Giants Game!) Mike popped the question (with the help of Mr. JJ Moses) at the Montalvo Arts Center and announced it to Lila’s Family at a private fire pit at the beautiful Filoli Gardens. Then they took the party back east and surprised Mike’s family with our exciting news.

Now, we welcome all of you to celebrate the next big adventure in the gorgeous Santa Cruz Mountains as we tie the knot at Saratoga Springs on July 23, 2023!
