Once upon a time, in the heart of Eastern Illinois University, two paths crossed in the most unexpected way. At the local bar, The Penalty Box, Blake was behind the counter shaking up drinks and serving up smiles. Little did he know his life was to change forever. Lilea walked in and turned that night into the beginning of their love story.

As their relationship blossomed, so did their shared passions. Lilea joined Blake at the Penalty Box, where they worked side by side, building a strong foundation for their future. The day Blake asked Lilea to be his girlfriend marked the start of their adventures together. They celebrated with a Cubs vs. Cardinals game, and, as love often does, it transformed Blake into a Chicago Cubs fan. Later on, with Blake's influence, Lilea embraced the Steelers with as much enthusiasm.

Life threw many challenges their way, but through it all their love only grew stronger. Lilea provided unwavering support and love during a year of unknown, we were given Blake’s cancer diagnosis. This health scare caused Blake to venture into real estate, where Lilea has embraced this new chapter and is so proud of all his accomplishments.

Blake in-turn has been Lilea’s biggest supporter. He cheered her through her graduation from EIU in 2020 and her recent achievements of earning a Masters of Social Work from AU in 2024. Blake’s encouragement and support have never gone unnoticed. In 2020 Lilea received the devastating news of the passing of her brother Matthew. Blake was a source of compassion and comfort during Lilea’s grieving.

Although we have faced many hardships we were also blessed with the greatest joy of our life. Four years later, our love story grew even more beautiful with the arrival of our amazing daughter Evelyn, in February 2023. Evelyn fills our love with adventure and laughter. Our family is completed by our two dogs, Thor and Louie

Together, Blake and Lilea have built a life rich in love, perseverance, and shared dreams. As they celebrate their journey and look forward to their future, they are grateful for the support they've given each other and the beautiful family they’ve created.
