Q + A

Wait you're getting Married? When?

The wedding is set for August 23rd, 2024. The Ceremony starts at 12:00pm at St. Victoria Church in Victoria, MN.

We didn't get a Save the Date, only an invitation.

That's right, no Save the Date. We posted the link to the Website as a way to communicate some information, but the official Invitation went out at the beginning of the year. We're hoping 6 months of notice is enough time to request time off if needed.

Is the Wedding religious or nondenominational?

The wedding will be a full catholic mass including Hyms, readings, and communion. if you have any questions on what to expect we would be happy to answer, but there is no expectations from you as a guest except to be present for the union.

If this is Mass, will there be a communion?

yes, there will be communion at the wedding. The custom is that only those who have gone through the Sacraments of the church participate. If you haven't, you may remain seated or follow the crowd, but cross your arms over your chest to indicate you are not taking the communion.

I see that costumes are "encouraged, but not required." What does that mean?

The wedding party, including the bride and groom, will be wearing a historical Italian Renaissance outfit for the wedding. As a guest, you are not required to dress in costume, but you can join in the festivities if you would like.

If people are dressing in Costumes, what is the dress code?

The dress code is the same as any wedding of fancy dress, but our number one concern is that your comfortable. (Our number two concern is that everyone is dressed modestly for the church segment of the ceremony.)

Where will we be staying that weekend?

We have not booked a block in any of the hotels in the area so you are free to make your own arrangements for staying overnight. We are about 20 minutes from Minneapolis so there is no shortage of places to stay for any budget. Please reach out if you want some recommendations.

Is there anything else going on that weekend?

The Renaissance Faire will be going on the same weekend as the wedding as well as a local Summer Fest held at the same church where the wedding takes place. Minneapolis is never short places like theaters, bars, and restaurants to explore and there is even a large science museum in St. Paul with interactive exhibits.

I don't see anything on your Wedding Registry. Should I still bring a gift?

The purpose of wedding gifts have traditionally been to set the married couple up for the next stage of their life (historically living on their own), but the wedding couple already have a lovely home and couldn't think of anything to put on the Registry. Instead, the couple is asking for help on paying down some debt from Car Payments, College Debt, and the House Payments. In otherwords, cash is a lovely gift. To make it a little more special and allow us to send out personalized thank you cards, we have set up four different online portals for the different accounts we are paying off and will have the same set up for Wedding Cards at the reception Venue. Any gift that is brought, will of course be equally accepted and thankful for, of course.
