Our Wedding

And they danced the night away...

I get asked SO MANY times how we met and how I knew he was the one...So, I'm so excited to share our story!

It all started at Granbury High School...

In 2011, we played basketball together when I was a junior and he was a freshman. We actually played against each other on the court because he was the tallest boy and I was the tallest girl on our teams... Little did he know, I secretly had a crush on him but I thought he was too young to date at the time. (Jokes on me!)

Fast forward to 2021...

We both went out to Cadillac in the Stockyards and immediately made eye contact across the bar. (It's a real thing when you're the tallest people there!) To preface, the night we met, we were both not looking to find Mr. (or Mrs.) Right... I was dancing with my friends when someone tapped me on the shoulder. Let me say, that the surprise on both of our faces was priceless because it had been so long (9 years!!) since we had seen each other. The boy that I had had a crush on YEARS ago had turned into a handsome man. He asked me to dance, and of course, I said yes! We QUICKLY learned that we both had two left feet. Laughing, we soon exited the dance floor and sat in the corner of the bar talking the entire night... Safe to say, we closed the bar down.

Before the night was even over, Mitchell asked me to go on a date with him the following Saturday! The timing was funny, our first date happened when the snowpocalypse was rolling in... Without having to go to work, we had plenty of time to talk and get to know each other.

Our friends joked that we were moving quickly, but we had known each other for what felt like our whole lives! By the end of SNOVID, Mitchell asked me to be his girlfriend at our favorite restaurant, 1890,and I was thrilled.

Little did I know, that at the same restaurant 5 months later,  he would ask me to be his wife!

... And we cannot wait to celebrate forever with you all on January 1st, 2022!

Little does she know I have always looked up to her, but as I get older I realize just how lucky I’ve always been to have a big sister as the most exceptional role model.

From being total strangers and new transfers on our basketball team at WT, to countless sonic trips (ft. lots of “I got a pocketful of sunshine” singing and our favorite mozzarella cheese sticks and peach tea), to keeping me accountable in so many aspects of my life. You are my prayer warrior and I am so thankful for you!

From being each others little dribbler rival…to middle school student council camp adventures…to singing to Chicken Fried after we ate hamburgers at your house…through it all you have never left my side. I admire your heart and the compassion you have for everyone you encounter. “God gave me you for the ups and downs”

From singing Miley Cyrus on the middle school bus to volleyball games to courageously dancing her way through life, Shannon is sure to be the first one on the dance floor.  Thank you for always motivating me, pushing me, and making me strive to be my best self!

What a joy Kali is in everyone’s life, especially mine!! Her bubbly and fun spirit is so fun to be around. From our shared obsession with Hannah Montana and Justin Bieber in middle school, to late night basketball talks with  your dad, to living for your moms homemade meals any time if the day, to becoming the people we would talk about being someday when we were kids. Your light shines so bright in my life and keeps me encouraged daily!

For those of you that have never met him, this is my more  
charismatic and good looking little brother. Although we have very different personalities and didn't always get along growing up,  I am proud to be your older brother and I wouldn't have anyone else as a best man.

Who knew we would be best friends before we were even born? I guess we can blame our moms. Regardless, I’m proud that you’ve been my best friend since birth and my QB 1 since 2nd grade.

My fellow twin tower in little dribblers, Thomas the pain train Weaver, and my partner in crime land lord. You have been know by many names through out our friendship going back as far as I can remember and it only seems fitting that you should be a part of this.

Matt is one of my friends that has been with me from the very 
beginning . Through all our sports growing up, to being roommates 
after college, it  has always been a great time. I could always count of you for a good philosophical debate or a clutch Rock band vocalist.

Michael was not only with me from the beginning of TCU,  but was 
also has been there since the beginning of my relationship with 
Lilley .Although we wish you could have stuck around Fort Worth I 
know the army has gained a great officer and I guess Hawaii isn't a bad place to end up .

always been a good friend since Frog camp. It takes a rare breed to 
be able to talk finance while hog hunting with your quadruple  California banned AR pistol.

Granbury's own most interesting man in the world . Fishing guide, 
coffee entrepreneur,  and concert worthy harmonicist . Although it’s 
always been great being your friend, you also helped to make my first year at TCU blast.

From our first days chairing the redneck committee of Delt to when 
you finally made the move to DFW you have been a real friend . I'm 
glad you will be with me on my wedding day.

Bryce Boushka

Brooklynne, Bailee, Maddie, Lawson, and Kylee are the nieces and nephew of the Vander Zee family. They all give us pure joy. Brooklynne (centered, Jr. Bridesmaid, 18 y/o) has forever had the biggest smile that shines her happy personality. Bailee (far right, Jr. Bridesmaid, 15 y/o) is genuinely honest with a huge personality, she never fails to kelp everyone on their toes. Maddie (far left, Jr. Bridesmaid, 13 y/o) has always been so sweet but she is definitely the goofiest of them all, she is always making everyone laugh. Lawson (far right, Ringasaurous, 5 y/o) has the biggest heart, he loves everyone he meets and is sure to make your heart smile. Kylee girl (far left, flower girl, almost 2) is precious, she has the most animated facial expressions and personality that will easily  keep you entertained. These beautiful souls are very dear to our hearts and will all play a huge and special part on our big day, but most importantly in our lives!!
