While it’s a bit of a drive from Leonard, Greenfield Village in Dearborn is well worth the trip if you’re spending extra time in Michigan. Step back in time at Greenfield Village, where history comes to life with working farms, historic homes, and Model T rides. This unique open-air museum is perfect for a romantic stroll, a dose of nostalgia, or a fun day exploring with family and friends. Great for all ages and just a short drive from the wedding festivities!
Located in Dearborn, about an hour and a half from Leonard, The Henry Ford Museum is a must-see for anyone interested in innovation and American history. From the Rosa Parks bus to presidential limousines and historic airplanes, the exhibits are both inspiring and interactive. A great option if you’re extending your trip and want to explore one of Michigan’s most iconic attractions!
Located approximately 30 minutes from the venue, downtown Rochester is a fun strip of stores, restaurants, and activities. There are several hotels and parks nearby that can make it a one-stop shop for visiting during the wedding!

Located 15 minutes from the venue, downtown Lake Orion is a quaint town with some restaurants, coffee shops, and walking trails. A favorite spot of ours is Wee Bean Coffee!
America's favorite past time! If you are down to do a little driving downtown Detroit has tons of amazing things to offer, including the Detroit Tigers. During the week of the wedding they will play on:
August 6th at 1:10pm against the Twins
August 8th at 7:10pm against the Angels
August 9th at 6:10pm against the Angels (we do not recommend this one)
August 10th at 1:40pm against the Angels
If you are in town on Sunday, we would love to invite you to join our church family at Woodside Bible Church in Troy Michigan! There are service times at 8:30 am, 10 am and 11:30 am! If you are at the 11:30 am be sure to swing by the Special Needs Class and say hi! Above any other activity Detroit has to offer, we recommend, this is the most important. (Service times generally run approximately 1h 15min)
This is one of our favorite spots! It is also perfect for a rainy day or for those who are unable to be in the summer heat for extended periods of time. Located in midtown Detroit, it will be a bit of a commute from the venue, but it is worth it. USA Today rated this the #1 Art Museum in the United States. There are plenty of food options around the museum and a cafe located inside of it. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for Seniors or Students, Youth (6-17) are $8.00 and Children 5 and under are free.
The home of the Detroit Lions! This one is a bit of a wild card. In previous years the NFL has held a preseason game during the same weekend the wedding will be on. The preseason schedule won't be released until later, but it is worth keeping an eye on!
Located 20 minutes from the venue, Blakes is one of the best apple cider mills in the state! They have a mini campus of things to do including numerous food options, games, festivals, and more! It is an awesome summer activity!
