Sometimes the timing is just right. Thats how it was for Lilly and Ben. After years of mutual acquaintances and almost meetings, the timing was right and they took a leap! Not even a pandemic could keep them apart, and thank God it didnt. Through career changes, the two grew closer and learned to be a support system for each other. Then, on the Irish shores, Ben took that big step and asked Lilly to be his wife. And come December, theyll live happily ever after!

Getting To Us

The Venue is about 15 minutes from downtown Gatlinburg, 30 minutes from Pigeon Forge, and about 60- 90 minutes from Knoxville (depending on where you are at in the city). Asheville, N.C. is about 2 hours away if you avoid going south through the National Park, which may have road closures due to ice. If flying, the McGhee-Tyson Airport in Knoxville is the closest to Gatlinburg. Allegiant Air, American Airlines, Delta Airlines, Frontier Airlines and United Airlines all service this airport. If you need a shuttle from the airport in Knoxville, please contact Joyce &amp; Dave Potter 850-559-2258/850-559-2259 Asheville Regional is a bit farther away at about 2 hours away, and it is serviced by Allegiant, American, Delta, JetBlue, Sun Country, and United.

The Greenbrier Estate

We have rented the Greenbrier Estate for our wedding week from Saturday, December 20th, 2024 until Friday, December 26th, 2024. The estate is 2 lodges within stumbling distance of the venue. There are a total of 28 suites each with a TV, fireplace, full bathroom with shower, jacuzzi tub, and double sink. 20 of the rooms have a king bed, and 8 of the rooms have a queen bunk beds and a king. The lodges have 14 full arcade games, 2 air hockey tables, 2 pool table, 2 foosball table, 4 hot tubs, and 2 movie theaters! The king only rooms are about $200 a night, and the king and bunk queens are about $483 a night.We would like as many people as possible to stay with us in the estate. Guests wanting to stay the full week will have priority; however, some rooms may be available for less time. If you don't get the chance to stay with us in Greenbrier Estate, we will definitely miss you! However, you will find plenty of options in the surrounding area, whether it be cabin rentals, AirBnBs, VRBOs, hotels, or RV campgrounds. Just make sure you book something ASAP because people love to celebrate Christmas in the Smokies.

The Great Smoky Mountain National Park

Visiting the Smoky Mountains has brought the couple closer together. When there is any free time to do so, Ben and Lilly love to spend it backpacking in the Smokies, even if for a short weekend. Ben hiked the entire Appalachian Trail in 2019, just before he and Lilly began dating. Both enjoy the views, connection to nature, and the chance to getaway from the hustle and bustle of life. ***Depending on the weather, the national park service may close certain roads at certain times or entirely. If planning any visits to or through the park, please visit nps.gov under Great Smoky Mountains for road closures.*** The Smoky Mountains are a great place to see beautiful mountain scenery that homes an old growth forest filled with a biodiverse ecosystem, such as black bears, salamanders, elk, and more. The park also has many preserved historic Appalachian community structures such as homes, school houses, and churches.The Appalachian Trail spans the distance of the entire Great Smoky Mountain national park, where the highest point of the trail resides, Clingman's Dome.Ben and Lilly have hiked in areas near Maggie Valley, Newfound Gap, Abrams Falls near Cades Cove. Cades Cove is an 11-mile loop in the national park that is about 90 minutes from the venue. It is a great place to see plenty of wildlife. Depending on the weather, it may be a great alternative to day hikes.

Things to Do in Gatlinburg

The wedding venue is about 15 minutes from downtown Gatlinburg, where there is a lot to do. Enjoy the holidays in this Smoky Mountain town! Have fun on ziplines and mountain coasters. Go hiking, golfing, fishing, biking, or horseback riding. Stroll along the Skybridge. Ride the Ober Mountain Aerial Tram. Visit Anakeesta park: enjoy scenic chair lift rides, visit Firefly Village and Black Bear Village for shopping and eating, walk the scenic route of the TreeTop Skywalk and climb the AnaVista Tower for a great view, and ride the Hellbender Mountain Coaster. Enjoy the many restaurants, cafes, stores, breweries, distilleries, and wineries in the area to eat, drink, and shop to your heart's content.

Things to Do in Pigeon Forge

Many things to see and do in Pigeon Forge, which is about a 30 minute drive from the wedding venue and about a 15 minute drive from Gatlinburg. Dinner Shows: Hatfield &amp; McCoy, Pirates Voyage, Dolly Parton's Stampede, Paula Deen's Lumberjack Feud TopJump (trampoline park), Dollywood park, Pigeon Forge Snow (indoor snow tubing), Hollywood wax museum, Titanic museum attraction, Wonderworks, Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies, a multitude of theatre shows, comedy shows, mini-golf courses, go cart parks, escape rooms, and other fun park places. Rent UTV or Jeeps to experience some off-road adventures. Check out the area from the sky in a helicopter tour. Enjoy axe-throwing, bowling, and plenty of restaurants, including Guy Fieri's Downtown Flavortown. Taste a little moonshine at the Tennessee Shine Co.
