The proposal took place on the one year anniversary of Lily and Josh's first date , January 30th, 2017. Josh surprised Lily with dinner at Elements at The Sanctuary for what she thought was just a standard anniversary celebration. Little did she know there was a lot more in store for the evening. After a delicious meal in a private booth tucked away from the main dining room and overlooking the city, they ordered their favorite dessert. When it arrived, Josh asked the server for an extra plate. Josh, being the creative guy that he is, had lined up a grandiose plan beforehand so that when the extra plate came it had "Will you marry me?" written on it in chocolate! Moments later the plate was placed down in front of Lily and shocked was she! Josh then grabbed the ring box out of his jacket pocket, got out of the booth and down on one knee and the rest is history!
