Lily's version: In March of 2022 I was sitting at Publik Coffee in downtown Salt Lake studying, when a super cute guy came and sat at the table right next to me. He has the cutest curly hair and sexy tattoos. He didn't talk to me for a while but I caught him looking at me a few times. Finally, he flip his laptop around and on the screen was a picture of a puppy, and he said "Do you think I should get this puppy?" That was his pick up line.... lol (little did he know I am super allergic to dogs so thank goodness he didn't actually adopt it and now he is the best cat dad ever). We exchanged some small talk through out the next 30 mins then he got up to leave. As he left he handed me a notecard with his name and number on it, and said "give me a call if you want". Fast forward about a month, I found the notecard at the bottom of my backpack and decided to give him a text, and the rest is history. I had no idea that one that day at that coffee shop I would be sitting next to my future husband.

Tommy's Version:

I had gone over to Publik Coffee after class one day telling myself I was going to study, and was looking around for a table to park myself at. I saw a couple of openings, with one next to an incredibly pretty girl who was facing away from me. I snagged the table next to her, and sat so that we were facing each other (I took the opposite corner of the table though so there was some buffer zone). This "studying" turned into me sitting there for 20 minutes, trying to not be obvious as I kept sneaking peaks of the girl, and desperately trying to come up with some sort of conversation starter. What I ACTUALLY came up with was "Hey, can you please be my voice of reason so I don't spontaneously adopt him?". Little did I know, Lily is very allergic to dogs, so it's a good thing I didn't! Anyways, the conversation trailed off (brownie points to Lily), so as I was leaving I wrote my number on the back of one my finals flashcards my name and number. As I was leaving Public that day, I texted my friend Jacob that I had just talked to the most beautiful girl I had ever seen, and that she was so far out of my league there was no chance I was going to get a text back from her. And she sure made me wait, the most agonizing month of my life before she texted me back!
