"Vizcaya Museum and Gardens is a National Historic Landmark that preserves the Miami estate of agricultural industrialist James Deering to engage our community and its visitors in learning through the arts, history and the environment. Built between 1914 and 1922, Vizcaya is one of the most intact remaining examples from this era in United States history, when the nation’s most successful entrepreneurs built estates inspired by the stately homes of Europe. Vizcaya features a Main House filled with a decorative art collection, 10 acres of formal gardens, a rockland hammock (native forest), mangrove shore, and a historic village that is being restored to tell Vizcaya’s full story and provide additional spaces for programs."
"Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden is an 83-acre botanic garden with extensive collections of rare tropical plants including palms, cycads, flowering trees, and vines."
"Pérez Art Museum is a modern and contemporary art museum dedicated to collecting and exhibiting international art of the 20th and 21st centuries."
Enjoy a day at the beach! Just keep in mind that March is prime Spring Breakers time. We recommend hitting the beach early before party crowds gather in the afternoon if you are looking for more of an R & R experience. We typically enter at 10th street beach entrance, the further north you go beyond 15th street the quieter it should get assuming Spring Breakers are remaining in South Beach.
